lol im not trying to downplay it...
i just think nintendo have a lot of guts to put their game up against two console launches.
im just saying its incredibly risky as the game will most likely get lost in all the hype of the console launches.
if you notice, nobody is talking about mario 3d world right now. you dont get articles in the news papers about mario 3d world. its all ps4/x1. this is what im talking about.
of course,...
yeh because the wiiu already has a user base from a year on the market, and there are no other games on the wiiu, so everyone will buy mario 3d world for xmas.
:)
'' mainstream media determines what the majority thinks about everything. Including products. Miley Cyrus isn't truly talented or innovative in what she does. But she is currently a top selling artist with multiple hits.''
ok, but mario is still a mainstream product. mario demands the support of the media as much as the ps4/x1. but, when you put all 3 out at the same time, all trying to grab the consumers attention, which one is going to win? the hardware ...
releasing this game alongside two console launches is not smart.
its going to be lost in the ps4/x1 hype.
ask ANYONE what gaming event there is this xmas and nobody will say mario 3d world. they will say the release of ps4/x1.
its amazing when the fans defend what is a limitation.
not really. if nintendo were doing anything special, everyone would know about it. it wouldnt be a secret, it would be the main event.
but that is clearly not what is happening here. ps4/x1 is the main even, and wiiu is the little band relegated to the small print on the flyer. by the time the main event is over, nobody is sticking around for wiiu.
as we have heard, the ps4 shifted 1 million units on day one. its curtain closed for wiiu in regards to sales. ...
its all a case of been there done that.
nintendo are playing it so safe. how about a new major ip for wiiu? something to make the wiiu memorable?
and lets be frank, besides beyonetta and X, all those games are for children.
what about the gamer with more mature sensibilities. this is why sony/microsoft are always going to win in many respects.
i still think the wiiu is too expensive.
until the price is realistic, the wiiu will always be last
great idea
'' Making a Sonic, where sonic is not running around like a speedster, is no real sonic''
sonic can work in 3d. it worked in 3d in the original sonic adventure. that was an amazing 3d sonic game, and possibly has last good game. colours was great too.
so sonic can work in 3d- it will just cost money to make the ambitious game needed to do it justice. i dont think sega are willing (or can even afford) to make the game. i mean, if you gave ninte...
was a massive ps1 launch game.
dont get carried away.
miyamoto isnt going to be around forever. todays team wont last for all eternity. mario can fall from grace, just as sonic.
time DOES change, and when todays team is gone, all the predecessors will have to go by is a formula, a template which they will copy from. inevitably, without the creative guidance of people like miyamoto, something will be lost along the way. until what you are left with is a game starring mario, that doesnt feel...
thing is, sonic used to be amazing. his games on par or even better in some respects than marios. sonic has better graphics, was faster, the music cooler, he looked better.
all it takes is a vital team member in the development team to leave, or some other change in the company, for all that to go to pot.
your audience can change from generation to generation, ie what's 'cool/relevant' now, might not be relevant in 20, 10 or even 5 years time. nin...
just brutally honest. which is what you want from a review
look what happened to sonic. now he's washedup
BUT, i would like a 3d mario game in another setting now. not space
1 percent is far too high ;)
as much as i like donkey kong, i think tropical freeze is a game too far. it was not very long ago dk returns came out. NOBODY expected (or frankly wanted) retro to be making a new dk game so soon.
i dont think there will be that much of a demand for it.
plus, the wiius user base is so small, how can the game 'take off' as you anticipate it will? i cant see tropical freeze selling consoles.
people wanted metroid. god only knows why th...
they had an entire year on the 'next gen' market with no competition and made zero impact. people even questioned whether the wiiu was/is even next gen at all. thats a failure right there, for a start.
now ps4/x1 are here with what is clearly (in the eyes of the consumer) vastly more powerful/advance tech, its hard to see the wiiu stand a chance.
of course the fans will keep the wiiu afloat, but i cant see the wiiu ever competing with ps4/x1 sales wi...
best of luck to you too :)
