Might do the same, honestly. Went through the trilogy a couple months back.
I actually enjoyed Andromeda. It wasn't a 10/10, by any means, but I played it years after the fact, after a lot of patching, and I had a good time with it.
@arma
I didn't know terrible writing and having no agency of choice were championed traits.
But, guys, you need to remember ... BIOWARE IS BACK! RETURN TO FORM!
That's half the reason you're probably having fun with it. If this was a spin-off or a reboot, far less people would be giving this game as much grief as they are. The fact that it's a direct sequel to the past games and does just about everything worse in every aspect; let aside if you like the action adventure route they took with the combat, this is not the game that most fan of the series wanted after ten years.
There's going to be a new-found appreciati...
Same lol. For as old it is, Champions is still a damn good game, holds up to this day, and I've put so many damn hours into it over the years. Almost always have it installed.
I love the series, but Tactica was just not my thing. I love tactical games - Xcom, Shadowrun, Hard West etc - but it was just generic feeling. I also love the Yakuza series, but I stick with the mainline games. The Like A Dragon games didn't really interest me, though I may give them a shot sometime down the road.
I kind of want both, honestly. The 30fps sucks for the type of game it is, but this is one of the most aliased games I've ever played. I love the game. It's legitimately one of my favorites; but it's janky as all hell on the technical side.
At this point I'm expecting the next Mass Effect to be little more than Gears of War, in space, with some romance options lol.
RPG fans play RPGs for the roleplaying elements. If you want to just make a linear, high-fantasy action game ... make a new series. Don't just gut an existing series, make it something highly different, and then sell it on name recognition.
It's not like this is even a reboot/spin-off. This is a direct sequel to a series with three games before it that, seemingly, has no respect or interest in what came before it; or what was put in place to even bring Veilguard to ...
Okay; so about that remake/remaster lol
And I'll probably be skipping it every six months lol.
They still made a point to state certain games would support 8k. They consider it enough of a selling point to say as much.
I'm glad you're happy about supposed success had from mediocrity, I guess.
The game still sucks.
If you temper your standards, across the board.
It really is a highly mediocre release.
@valkyrye
And the reception of the game has been oh-so amazing since release, right?
Normally I'd agree, but this is a case where the company vetted reviews for the best possible outcome prior to release. So I'd say have at it with this one.
I mean, $30 is asking a lot for an easily manufactured piece of plastic. It could have probably been added to the package for pennies on Sony's end.
It's a beautiful thing, isn't it?
People wanted the 4th game in a RPG series to actually be a RPG.
