@anast
There's not a game out there that I would put more than a few hours in without some kind of reward. You putting more than double my time, where I was, legitimately, enjoying it, is insane lol.
I consider New Vegas the best of, what I consider, the mainline RPG Fallout series. Fallout 4 though, is its own beast.
They're on a great track record to make that money back, so far.
If I was an investor I'd be screaming to take the hit and stop before more damage is done.
There's very few JRPGs I, by definition, consider a "RPG".
Final Fantasy was, literally, inspired by Dungeons and Dragons. The only thing they took from it was stats and classes though. Very little about affecting the story or fleshing out the character as their own, individual person in agency of the player's actions.
That's the entire reason the "JRPG" is its own sub-genre.
I enjoy both for different reasons, b...
Bloober Team - doing god's work lol
We all knew that.
Doesn't mean the players, themselves, think it's a good idea.
I considered Fallout 4 "bad" for years, because they removed a lot of elements of past Fallout games. Decided to give it another try just this year and accept it for what it is.
Well, 100 hours later and it was some of the most fun, addictive, gaming I've had in a long while. Threw the game on survival mode, started taking interest in base-building and something clicked. I didn't like it because I didn't consider it Fallout in any real sense. As for th...
Haven't played, myself, but I hear the choices of the past games are basically non-existent here, there's not a lot of choice/agency to be had in the game, itself, and that it's made impossible to actually play an evil/renegade character. So, essentially, they took all the roleplaying out of a classic roleplaying series. That's a hard pass for me, in and of itself.
I grew up playing games like Baldur's Gate, Planescape Torment, Arcanum, Deus Ex, Morrowin...
@ghostscholar
Maybe not a bot, but expect to be ridiculed, up and down, ad nauseam.
Not going to pretend to be a fan of the series; I've never seen a single movie lol, but I'm a fan of adventure games in the style of Uncharted and Deadfall Adventures. As for Machine games, even their worst releases are above average, so I have high hopes for this one.
Truly a masterpiece RPG. Too bad there was so much infighting and power dynamic struggles going on between the devs and the publisher. A lot of he said/she said going on with both sides.
Hardline at least tried to mix things up for the first time in a while. This was pretty much the nail in the coffin for Visceral though.
Should be fun. I left Gamepass lapse for a few months; planning to go back in for Stalker/Indiana, and a number of the smaller ones they've released recently like Expeditions, Riders Republic and Sifu. Not a big CoD guy, but hearing the new one is good, so I'll at least play the campaign and give the multiplayer a few hours.
I doubt "spent 8 years on a game that closed down in two weeks" looks good on a resume. I'd say maybe the artists would bounce back relatively unscathed, but the art was one of the biggest criticisms of the game.
I mean, it's not a bad thing, but why even bother? The new one was even more lame than the original lol. I actually didn't even mind the first. It was fine for what it was. I didn't even play the new one for an hour before I gave up on it.
So they're probably not even attempting that free-to-play re-release of Concord then. Damn. Sony literally lost hundreds of millions of dollars on this little experiment.
I think that's just in the AAA space, where they think 100s of millions of dollars for every mid-tier game is just par for the course.
I've been playing smaller, more AA experiences from some studios, for decades now, that sometimes only see a few hundred thousand in sales, yet the studios are still keeping the lights on.
Origins is, indeed.
He knows what he's doing. He really enjoys being the anti-antiwoke guy on here. Doesn't matter what your criticism of the game might be; if the game has "DEI" elements, then that's the reason why you don't like it lol.
I will, sometime down the road. But I've seen enough from coverage of the game to tell me I probably don't want to go out and pay full retail to do so. That's what makes coverage/previews valuable. One game that I have doubts about how I'll take to it vs the dozens of games on my wishlist that I've already vetted, think I'll really enjoy, and have just been waiting for sales.
It's been 4k/60fps via emulation for years lol.
