The Creation Engine needs to go, and your recommendation is freakin' UE5?
Bethesda really does need a new engine. I think they have done some insane things with it over the years, and it fit their needs well (if buggy as all hell). That said, I don't think it should be UE5.
The more and more I see it, the less I like it as an engine. I think they peaked at UE3 and it's been worse and worse since.
Not really. They were, really, the only high level developer keeping the classic RPG alive through the 2000's; before the renaissance that came after.
There were devs out there who COULD do it better, but didn't usually have the means. And there isn't much out there of Bioware's that I would consider "overrated" personally.
Hell, the one game I actually feel that would be is very much a hot take to many gamers - Mass Effect 2. They cleaned...
Purely based on the 5 hour trial I played, I'd give it a 6. An actual 6, meaning I didn't find it terrible and there were things done decently. But that's me being unbiased, and only reviewing the early game content. I find the gameplay really repetitive, and have seen enough of the later writing to know I find it to be cringe.
It's a game I'll get when dirt cheap/via gamepass when the time comes. More to play just to have a real opinion on it, rather t...
WaW is pretty much the only CoD I sunk a bunch of time into when it came to multiplayer. Love the game, and was hoping for the game to get the remake treatment, but this is cool too.
As for Singularity, that's also great. Loved the game. Loved pretty much everything Raven put out over the years. It's too bad their games never sold insane amounts, and they were then relegated to CoD support.
This isn't a game of whataboutism; nor did anyone say you weren't allowed to like the game. I'm saying I sure as hell don't, and that is a sentiment shared by a lot of people. Many who also happened to be fans of the series in general.
Ah yes; FF XV.
The beginning of me coming to the realization the series was no longer for me.
I played the 5 hour trial of the game, and would probably give it a 6/10 based on the early game content. The combat was already getting really repetitive for me, and that's supposed to be the "best" part of this game. I didn't even get to the cringe parts of Veilguard.
Overall, I give the game a NO/10
It's called Gallum.
There's people on here who would choose Xbox disappearing over world peace, so yeah. A good amount of them.
Majora's Mask is still my favorite in the series; followed by Twilight Princess.
I mean, the game already cleared the development costs by a large margin. Not even accounting for the Gamepass deal. In talks of a TV deal with Netflix, planned expansions. I think GSC is doing just fine, no matter what they choose to do.
Not surprising, considering the solid reception of the game.
Personal game of the year.
Kingdom Come 2, Avowed, Outer Worlds 2, and Tainted Grail (full release) for me.
Hey; I'm all for these guys getting that cash coming in, but Netflix is really, really hit or miss with their adaptations. Leaning a lot on miss.
This is specifically for console players. There's no way anything they do with this would even touch the two decades of mod work to be had here.
I hope they at least update the combat. Even Skyrim's was terrible and dated when it released, and that combat was a marked improvement over Oblivion.
Don't care who owns FromSoft as long as their games are coming to PC.
This was more a year of disappointing than straight up bad. Very few truly broken games.
I'd throw The Day Before and Dustborn into the ring.
Veilguard for biggest disappointment (at least personally ... at least)
Concord for biggest flop.
Starfield is actually a RPG. Bethesda hasn't done that in a while.
