The common denominator is Sony currently having a terrible track record with their handling of live service, and is just coming off, literally, the biggest game release blunder of all time.
Ehhhh
Does it though?
Has stronger roleplaying elements than Oblivion, Skyrim, and Fallout 4. Still a step back from Fallout 3.
@romulus
Suuuuure
Good on him; he knew what was really important lol.
Yeah. Good luck with that. There are going to be many, many brand new copies out in the world.
Dragon Age 2 (which I still actually enjoy) ruined the design of the Darkspawn. Now the upcoming DA is trashing Qunari. Awesome.
The original Dragon Age really was the only true spectacular game in the series. The second game simplified things, and made it lesser of an experience overall, but I still found it good. Inquisition had some great elements, but had way too much nothing, filler content that made it feel more like farming in an MMO than an actual open-world, story...
"crappy masterpiece"
And this take is just crappy in general.
*Googles Overwatch's release date then says it's just like that*
Overwatch had been very popular, for years, because ... well ... it played like Overwatch. Comparing the two isn't exactly an insult, as you seem to want it to be. Second, I've actually played it, and it's a lot more than just a hero shooter, isn't a simple copy of Overwatch in terms of its feel and gameplay.
Two of the most popular, most awarded RPG series on the market in general.
This looks really promising.
And here it starts.
Yeah, yeah. Outside of Redfall both other games were received well and see thousands of concurrent players on Steam every day. That's not even including Xbox.
Concord is literally the biggest videogame release flop of my generation.
If they didn't refund people they would probably be hit with multiple lawsuits. The money made on sales probably didn't even justify the cost of keeping the servers up for any real period of time, so they cut their losses.
Deadlock hit a little under 100k concurrent players, and that's an invite-only closed beta currently on just one platform.
Not without its faults, but I really enjoyed the game. Actually my favorite Bethesda release since Morrowind. It would be good to see them building on the game over the years; fixing some of the problems people have with it.
This looks pretty good.
Lawbreakers was actually great, but really should have been F2P out of the gate. It was more of an arena shooter than a hero shooter, and I really think they could have developed a real fanbase for it if they marketed it differently.
I disagree. Re-selling old content; sometimes even just a handful of years old as of late, isn't a healthy way to look at your releases. It also really isn't pro-consumer.
As I said in my original post, you get the luxuries of remasters/remakes/player-made- content for free on PC. It's made a necessity to have to pay to play a more modernized version of a game while on console. Hell, we had free next-gen upgrades, or offered at a low cost, earlier in the genera...
Looks like a poor man's Pac Man.
