right, but if you're not going to count those as PS3 sales, then are you going take all of the mulitple purchases off the 360's tally?
At least 4 360 owners I know personally have had to own more than one, and thats not an uncommon trend.
I'm sorry.....did you just refer to KillZone2 as "overhyped" in the same series of posts in which you mentioned "Halo" and "Gears".....?
Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.
They claim digital downloads are the future, but invest millions in a losing cause with HD-DVD. Then they claim Bluray's victory will be short lived because its only a step between mediums, after which they form a committee to create DVD2, which isn't even as good as the one that just got spanked by Bluray.
Now, they're going to use the "hardware shortages" excuse? And furthermore, they claim those supply shortages are because thier holiday sales from months ago were mo...
Seriously, they could have panicked, abandoned the PS2 to get PS3 out sooner, and brought us an inferior product, but they didn't. They stuck to thier guns, made sure the PS3 was full of features and quality, and now they look the better for it. Good on them.
And just like I didn't mind waiting for the PS3 console to be done right, I don't mind waiting for the PS3's games to be developed properly either.
Not only does this guy share my name, but he shares my undying affection for PSone's "SKULLMONKEYS"! cool.
And I can't wait to add this game to my PS3 collection.
This is false and the one reason I will always choose PS3 over 360! Better games and services are what I want and unfortunately MicroSoft ain't got it.
now I just need "Kameo Colonies", "Vampire Rain Special Edition" and "Bullet Witch 1.5" to come out and I can buy that 360 Arcade unit I've always wanted.
How about some DLC for "TenchuZ"!?
Wasn't the 360's full year head start going to kill the PS3?
Wasn't the 360's supposedly cheaper price going to kill the PS3?
Wasn't the Master Chief and his lameduck sequel going to kill the PS3?
Wasn't HD-DVD going to kill the PS3?
Wasn't the 360s multiple price drops going to kill the PS3?
Wasn't the achievement whore online orgy on XBlive going to kill PS3?
Sorry Jason, but Microsoft has brought a malfunctioning knife to a gunfight, and they're r...
Exactly.
And so a Microsoft Rep claiming microsoft's console has the best games is supposed to be news how?
And what made those numbers? Kameo? Prey? Bomberman Zero? No, it was the blockbuster titles like Halo and Bioshock. Well guess, what? The PS3's biggies are coming, and trust me, we're not loosing sleep over Halo.
And even with all those highly touted FPSers in 2007, the 360 was still outsold by the PS3.....what do you think those numbers are going to look like when MGS4, GT5, FF13, KZ2 and such arrive?
w00t!
Yup, the only thing that clip needed was more cowbell.
Really? The 360 has twice as many highly rated games...I see...and hasn't it been out twice as long?
80% of those great 360 games are also on PS3, the PS3 has its own exclusive series like "Final Fantasy", "God of War", "Metal Gear" and such, and we've got a significantly better 2008+ lineup coming.
I can assure you, PS3 owners are not losing sleep over "Halo3" and "Gears".
Sounds like just a random opinion to me.
And what if I'm not such a big fan of FPSers and I'm not interested in Halo, Bioshock or Gears? Is the 360 lineup still the best?
Wouldn't Wii fans say that "Mario Galaxy", "Metroid Prime Corruption", "Twilight Princess", "Mario Party 8", "Trauma Center", "Wii Play", "Paper Mario" etc are fantastic games?
Wouldn't PS3 fans who prefer series like...
LE KILLER:
Much respect to you seriously, but I think the arguements you make could go both ways. I don't know how people can claim the PS3 "has no games" or that "its not a gamer's system".
What, do 360 supporters think PS3 owners aren't playing any of these:
OBLIVION, HL2:ORANGEBOX, GRAW2, R6VEGAS, ASSASSIN'S CREED, CoD4, DMC4, ROCKBAND, GUITAR HERO III, NINJA GAIDEN, DARKNESS, FEAR, LOST, BURNOUT PARADISE, KANE & LYNCH, THE CLUB, ARMY...
okay, but what if said "games console" was unreliable, lacked other valued features that I plan to use, and doesn't have the games I like? Then it isn't much of a deal is it?
ummm....if Microsoft honestly believed that downloads were the future, why did they invest millions into HD-DVD? And why are they now negotiating to bring Bluray to Windows? And why are they trying to develop DVD2?
I'm not trying to be a smartass as much as I'm trying to make sense of it all. All these various articles citing comments by all these various MS reps, and none of it seems to jive; like the left half of thier collective brain doesn't know what the right half is sayi...
"not everyone wants the same experience. Personally, I want choice"
-spoken by CHERRY PIE
I like choice too. And as someone who likes choice, I find it rather absurd that you feel your opinion is the authority on what games are the best this generation or what system gives anyone the best value.
You claim that its "clear that for people who want to play games they get the best deal with 360".......but if I like motion sensative gameplay...
I agree with CHERRYPIE....I don't know where FOODBOX got the patience to type all that nonsense.
1)If people didn't need or want hard drives, the Arcade unit would already be the best selling bundle.
2)If people want those games, all of them except Halo3 are available dirt cheap at this point anyways.
3)If HD movies wasn't a great feature, then why did MS invest millions into HD-DVD?
Drone on all you want about not needing hard drives and the 360 be...
SO HERE'S WHAT YOU GET:
- fatally flawed hardware
- a bunch of add-ons you get with higher model 360s or PS3s
- 8 so-so games that are already available on the cheap
- 1 game of value (Halo3) that you'd buy regardless of this package
- 1 game of value (Oblivion) that has a superior version available
- 5 crappy "live arcade" games they give you free when your 360 bricks
- a memory card that probably won't satisfy any serious gamers
right, but where was that warranty in year 1?
What about folks that unfortunately didn't keep receipts?
what about anyone who buys a second hand unit?
what support will I get in year 4&5 after the 3 year warranty expires?
I understand your point that some PS3 sales are indeed from companies and bluray movie users, but its also a FACT that a significant number of people have had to purchase a second 360 unit, so you can't just dismiss Sony's sales figures as ...
