The sample base was barely over 50 people, the results were an unconvincing 27-22.
Could this article have been any more pointless?
Seriously, is anyone over the age of 10 actually worried about thier gamerscore or achievement points?
The one HUGE factor the article forgets to mention is the impact the PS2 might have on stocking the PlayStation brand for the years to come.
Many of the people who are just buying a PS2s now may very well become PS3 owners down the road when it gets cheaper.
Lets face it, the PS2 sold upwards of 120+ million units, and the 360 hasn't hit 20 million units yet, so its not like the PS2 userbase ran out and converted to Microsoft....just wait until the PS3 gets a little...
Ummm....its been worth it all along.

Man, so many fantastic games. Sure, some of them are multiplats, but that doesn't make them any less fun to play....and the biggies are coming!
2008 might be the...
Even if I could somewhat agree with his point, the writer came across as such a douchebag that I honestly had to stop reading.
Who is this person to tell me what I'm supposed to like about gaming!? If I like to be dazzled by graphics so be it. What, I'm supposed to stop enjoying better looking games becasue this bloke says so? So this fella has a hard-on for fantasy art styles like "Okami" and "Wind Waker"...but would those styles apply well to a game like &qu...
For either "Valkyrie Profile"[PSone]or "Vagrant Story"[PSone]?
Both were more "unusual" for their time than anything else on that list in my opinion, with Valkyrie Profile using its 2D side-scrolling settings when 3D was all the rage, and Vagrant Story having such a unique combat and item creation system. And what about "Morrowind" being the first truly open-ended console RPG?
My list would look as such:
5. M...
Some valid points about release dates being pushed back, but I guess i just don't mind waiting for quality.
I don't understand how 360 supporters can now cry foul that the general consensus is that the 2008 PS3 lineup is better. Weren't these the same blokes who wouldn't shut up in 2007 about the 360's superior lineup last year?
Sounds like a bunch of sour grapes to me.
I'd openly admit that as a PS3 owner, I was a little jealous of "Mass Effect" and "BioShock" both of which I'd purchase in a heartbeat if they came to the PS3....but that time has passed...
I'd rather MicroSoft had invested that $50 million to figure out why 360's keep bricking or add a 4th year to that warranty rather than hand it over for some random DLC on a multiplat release thats going to sell regardless.
"DMC used to be PS only. It is now on an MS console. GTA used to be PS only. It is now on MS console. See a trend?"
1) That trend goes both ways; I'm quite enjoying Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Elder Scrolls Oblivion, and HL2:OrangeBox thanks.
2) The 360 obviously has alot more to gain from multi-platform releases because Sony had alot more of the sought after series over the last decade.
3) 360 supporters love to talk about how "final fantasy&quo...
Wasn't the 360's year plus head start going to kill the PS3?
Wasn't the 360's lower price going to kill the PS3?
Wasn't the Master Chief's Halo3 going to kill the PS3?
Wasn't the HD-DVD format going to kill the PS3?
Wasn't the supposedly superior XBlive service going to kill the PS3?
And now some mystery DLC on GTA4 is going to kill the PS3 right?
Do you know what the DLC is?
Do you know if it was worth the $50+ million?
Do you kn...
"why would anyone pass up 50 million dollars worth of dlc?" you ask....
How about because you've been given no information on what that DLC is, you've been given no gaurantee that the PS3 version won't get its own extras at some point, and you don't trust MicroSoft or their malfunctioning hardware?
No offence, but I don't see how you can get this uptight over mystery content that you're not sure may even be worth the hassle.
Oh god, not the Ferrari arguement again *rolls eyes*
Okay, I'm not trying to get into a flame war, and this is purely a subjective personal opinion.....
....but going only based on the screens shown in that article, the PS3 version's graphics look better, at least to me.
And I get that you can argue "they're not BETTER they're just DIFFERENT" or whatever, but look at the one with the guy leaning up to the wall at the corner; the 360 version looks white and washed out, the PS3 character model looks sharper an...
carefull, you don't want to overheat that one. Think they have a 3 year warranty on those implants?
you speak as if its only the Sony fans who are biased, but where are all those overzealous 360 fans droning on about the demise of the PS3 now that Sony is getting the positive press?
And so what if the article about the RRoD is getting more attention than the one about the 360 sales increases!? Sales increases will fluxuate as they always have, but a hardware problem like the 360s is in all reality a bigger story.
That "failrate" stat might only be 16%, but the "problem" statistic is alot higher. What about systems that occasionally get freezes and red rings but not the full 3 rings? My buddy's system had a malfunctioning disc tray. And what about the people who've had thier system in more than once? Microsoft still only counts that as one bad unit, but as far as that customer is concearned they've had 2 or 3 problems.
And you always hear in these articles that Microsof...
Japanese companies have primarily leaned towards supporting other Japanese companies first, so I wouldn't be surprised to see SquareEnix continue to support Nintendo and Sony.
And lets not forget the other series aside from Final Fantasy:
Star Ocean, Kingdom Hearts, Valkyrie Profile, Dragon Quest, Grandia etc. and you never know if they'll throw out another Chrono title.
And don't tell me "Resident Evil 4" because that was an action shooter and not scarry in the slightest.
I mean Survival Horror!
"Fatal Frame II" and "Silent Hill 2/3" should have made that list.
Another damned port!? How many times are they going to pimp this game out? She's good, but she's starting to chafe. I still have my "ONLY ON GAMECUBE" copy! lol.
To be honest, if CAPCOM really wanted to impress me, they'd throw together one of those "collection" packages for the main RE games.
Resident Evil Zero
Resident Evil (the gamecube remake version!)
Resident Evil 2
Resident Evil 3
Resident Evil Code Veronica (origina...
