Sorry to say, but I find it rediculous for the bloke to come out now and say "we were unfairly compared to Oblivion" since anyone who's played "Two Worlds" knows that it was an attempt at an Oblivion clone. Hell, when they were pitching the game all you heard was that they were going to do ____ better than Oblivion, and such and such better than Oblivion.
Now if the Wii would only get rid of those silly wand controllers and make a half decent game not named "Mario" I might be interested in one.
You keep telling me the PS3 has no games, except......
1) I'm playing most of the same games you are:
[CoD4, HL2:OrangeBox, Oblivion, DMC4, R6Vegas 1&2, RockBand, Assassins Creed, Dark Sector, Ghost Recon AW2, Darkness, Fear, Army of Two, Guitar Hero III, Kane & Lynch, Turok, Lost Planet, UT3, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Dirt, NHL08......]
2) I'm also playing my exclusives:
[GT5:Prologue, Resistance FoM, Ratchet & Clank FToD, Uncharted, Heavenly Sword...
should I point out the irony that your avatar is a lemming?
Enjoy the cliff.
Not trying to bash the 360 or its fans, but consider the sales pattern.
2006 - 360 launches against no competition, sells around 10m units.
2007 - 360 lands its killer aps, sales decrease to around 7m units.
2008 - 360 is being beaten by the Wii and PS3 many weeks.
I fully respect the 360 and its fans, and I'd openly admit that it has its share of fantastic games, but you would think that 360 sales would have increased when all those big games came out in...
.....but am I the only person who noticed the article said the game wasn't finished yet? Why do we never wait for the games to actually arrive before we brag about which version is best?
Anyhow, the one thing I find absurd is that some in the 360 camp often uses the multiplats as the standard for console debate flameware as if 3rd party multiplats stand as a testament to both system's capabilities.
"Resistance" looks fantastic.
"Ratchet & Cl...
"SONY COULDN'T PULL IT OFF FOR A YEAR STRAIGHT HERE IN AMERICA LIKE MICRO DID"
- the only year Microsoft can brag about is 2006 when the 360 was the only next gen console out. As soon as the Wii and PS3 arrived its been nothing but negative news for the 360, hence why they're now trying so hard to add PS3 and Wii features to their unit. Think about it...2007 had all the 360's "killer Aps" arrive, and its sales still declined from the year previous....kinda str...
......because I wasn't expecting another Mario or Zelda game from Nintendo.
Definite Bubs up.
GTA4 will definitely sell stronger on 360 at first for one reason alone, the current install base. So I agree with you the 360 version will initially outsell the PS3 version.
That said, Rock* isn't stupid, and they're well aware they owe their success to the PlayStation format. They track the numbers and are well aware that the 360 sold less units in 2007 than it did in 2006, and that the PS3 and Wii are gaining ground every week.
Rock* will obviously pay attention t...
I keep seeing people getting caught up in "attach rates", but those attach rates don't tell the whole picture.
Obviously attach rates are partially influenced by the availability of what people would consider the "killer aps", and they are also related to how long a system has been out because it gives the installed base more time to have purchased games.
I fully expect the 360 to have a good attach rate right now, because "must have" ga...
Much respect to the 360, its fans, and its games, but I think the heads at MicroSoft are still worried a tad about the bigger picture:
That since 2006, sales of the 360 have been generally declining, compared to past years. They sold more units in 2006 than they did in 2007 when all their best games came out (you'd think having Halo3 and such land would have boosted console sales, not seen them decline).
I'm not trying to bash the 360, I'm just respectfully pointing ...
1) It was directly paid for and sponsored by Microsoft.
2) It didn't contain any direct quotes or confirmation from RockStar.
3) The context it was written in was speculative in nature.
I LOVE CAPS LOCK!
......I guess I'll just have to play any of the full games I own.
With all due respect to the people who froth over demos like they're water in desert, I guess I just don't understand the big deal. Its only a demo, and in this case, the demo of a movie tie-in multiplat.
Regardless of which system you own or support, you'll have this demo before the full version launches, and at the end of the day, thats all that really matters.
Lets not turn this sad lit...
GIANT CRAB,
Is this honestly what its boiled down to?
You're running so dry on ways to try and bash the PS3 that you've turned to griping about when the demos to multiplats come out?
weak man, just weak.
..........but by the time the 360 GTA4 DLC comes out (at a price) I will have migrated onwards to other games.
I'm not bashing GTA4 in the least, it'll rock and I'll play through it, but its certainly not the only game coming this year for PS3 owners.
how well did you design your character?
Whatever you selected as your "main skills" is what will level you up. Just keep doing whatever you chose your character to do well and you should be levelling up just fine.
(if you have "marksman" in your main skill list, then use bows as opposed to other weapons. if you have light armor as a main skill, then use light armor as opposed to heavy armor. and so on and so forth.)
not trying to argue with you, but I'm wondering why you seem to think the PS3 version will be "washed out" or somehow inferior.
In my personal experiences, I see a difference in both machine's graphic style, but I wouldn't classify one being "better" than the other. I find they both look fantastic. The 360 sometimes looks brighter, but the PS3 sometimes has better lighting/shading, and I've never considered the differences to be worth argueing about.
There is a distinct difference between me paying $40 to check out the latest edition of the world's best racing franchise, and you having to pay to play many of the same online games I play for free.
Gt5:Prologue is like any other game; if you don't like it or don't think theres enough value, then simply put, don't buy it.
That said, the sales numbers would indicate many people chose to buy it, and the user ratings are 8.5+ across the board, so those people are obvi...
