Hopefully this has no effect on the PC version. Ubisoft have said that they want to regain their presence in the PC gaming community, but if Far Cry 2 coming to consoles puts limits on the PC version, then that will not be happening.
I've been hearing conflicting reports. Some are calling the 9600 GT the D9P, while others the D9M. D9M sounds more plausible, though, considering this is a mainstream part.
That was a spin-off, and was really nothing like the original Far Cry. The levels were linear, the graphics had a different style, and the gameplay was more run-n-gun.
If the past is any indication, "announcements" from game stores are not to be trusted.
No. Read the article.
It's also missing StarCraft II, Left 4 Dead, and Spore.
It's a synthetic benchmarking program. The numbers aren't very indicative of actual in-game performance, though, as they are performed in a linear, on-rails environment, like a time demo.
As for these 3dMark 08 screens, if they're real, holy ****! '
EDIT: Just read the reports section in the right-hand column. Unfortunately they're fake.
If you want an open-source handheld gaming device, look no further than the GP2X.

Personally, I find 1.6 easy compared to Source. In 1.6, I can easily land headshots, while it's difficult for me to do the same in Source.
- MS will launch a PC version of Xbox LIVE Arcade.
-----This is pretty much confirmed. If I remember correctly, the project manager for GFW Live said on an episode of PC Gamer podcast that a GFW Live video marketplace and arcade games would come in 2008.
- Windows Vista will get better.
-----Get better, yes. Be a better OS than XP, not likely.
- Mass Effect will come out on PC.
-----Highly possible, considering every other Bioware game has be...
I tried out Vista for a couple days when it came out since I got a free copy. Some of the features were pretty cool, but when it came to game performance, Vista was abysmal. I tried it out again around two months ago, but even one year later performance is still horrible. A 20% performance drop in Team Fortress 2 is unacceptable.
This game seems really fun. I've never played the original Savage, which is a free game, but I've heard good things about it, as well as good things about Savage 2.
No system requirements have yet been released, but I expect them to be high. I'd guess the absolute minimum would be a 7600GT and recommended would be >8600GTS/7900GT
Damn, I don't have The Frozen Throne.
Horrible list.
GOW2 is a nominee.
Looks like Fallout 3 will be more of a shooter than an RPG.
Disappointing.
Bizarre Creations developed it.
PC, PS3, and XBOX 360.
