BioShock has always been a PC game.
It's Gabe Newell who dislikes the PS3, not Valve, the company, as a whole.
I'm sure he'll change his opinion of it over time, though. I know many people who once used to hate the PS3 but now own one.
Some good headphones can help you a lot in gaming. I've been able to pinpoint the location of enemies trying to sneak up on me numerous times in games like Counter-Strike: Source, even with my somewhat poor iCEMAT Siberia (now sold under the SteelSeries brand) headphones.

A lot of recent games such as The Orange Box and Supreme Commander make good use of multiple cores.
Games like Tribes on the PC were able to support up to 128 players. It's just a matter of optimizing and writing great network code.
