Crytek said they've ported the engine to consoles, not the game.
Source Engine 2007 was a huge update.
The Antlion Caves with the dynamic- and self-shadowing is one of the most graphically impressive things I've ever seen, especially with 16xQ CSAA, 16x AF, and every other setting maxed out at 1920x1200.
Being a Source engine fanatic, the graphics in this game are incredible. But they're just icing on the cake compared to the ridiculously fun co-op gameplay.
I have a feeling that this is all just a ploy.
Parents make video, video gains attention, Microsoft sends them free stuff for good PR.
Parents and kid wins. Microsoft wins.
We lose.
You are correct, sir.
The E7000s, as well as some of the higher end notebook C2Ds (e.g., T9500) are Penryn.
The E8000s are Wolfdale.
After that comes Yorkfield and Nehalem.
I guess [H] was right in saying that the 9 series would be a "stop-gap" between the 8 series and NVIDIA's "next-gen" parts.
Cards like the 8800 Ultra and 9800GX2 are ultra-high-end cards. They're not meant for the average gamer or even hardcore gamers. They're meant for the ultimate hardware enthusiast who has a nice paying job and can afford nice things.

Looks cool.
I prefer the MGS3 boxart, though, which is beautiful.
Survivorman!
Console emulators are great.
I recently played through Chrono Cross again through an emulator (my PS1 broke) at 1680x1050, 4x AA, and trilinear filtering and it looked awesome.
I also dabbled around with PCSX2, the PS2 emulator, but it still has its fair share of bugs. Some games work like Final Fantasy X (plays perfectly) and Final Fantasy XII ("playable"), but others like Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and Shadow of the Colossus suffer from graphics glitches an...
I doubt it'll ever come to the consoles. The console audio systems are probably prohibitive to this sort of thing, and licensing would likely be too expensive.
It'll probably suffer the same fate as Kane & Lynch and start selling for $10 each a few months after release.
Yeah, joke article, but the best way I found to improve my gaming skills in to get a good amount of sleep and eat healthy food. It keeps me more focused and more responsive.
Need a dispenser here!
