Spot on, pointless article. I LOVED Wasteland 3, haven't started the expansion yet. Crossfire X is due soon and I'm excited for it too.
I've always done that (not exactly 6 months). Generally I wait for 2 major patches before playing massive open world games. It's not a new problem, covid maybe increased it a little. The reason it's noticed more now is Twitter and waaaay more massive open world games.
Covid and remote development. Pushing it out for a release date instead of just delaying it. All open massive open world games have launched buggy because that's the nature of the beast. Take you pick, or choose all of them.
You mean like pretty much every new tech?
Stop. Just stop. Rational thoughts will get you no where here. Just scream M$ sucks and Sony Rulz and you'll be good.
I'm assuming that's because they want to sell them as one big group.
Dumb take. Should Nintendo retire Link? Sony retire Kratos or any of their other mascots with never ending series? No. They need to keep rolling with MC and Cortana as long as the voice actors can keep doing it. Definitely like the recurring side characters and they need more of those.
Gamers budgets are their budgets so if it's too expensive, I get it. In general, that's a stubborn view point though. I download and play enough games every 2 months to justify an entire year of the service. It's insane value.
Game with gold offers older games. Always has. No series X/S games are old yet, so why would they appear in the service?
I get notalsiga, and am in my mid-40s so did rent movies and games... It sucked. I even gave up on buying physical media. GamePass all the way, then digital purchase if I absolutely must.
Far Cry is my favorite Ubisoft franchise, just ahead of AC. Can't wait for this and it looks great.
IMO VR will never be truly mainstream. Motion sickness, that weird feeling you have if you play it too long, and just having the headset in will be deal breakers for most. AR has much more mainstream promise.
I hope this is a big step forward over Zero Dawn whuxb was an OK game, good first try at a new IP. Obviously not going AC with clibinhing everything, which is fine, but the meh combat VS humans needs to be a step up over the first. Dino combat was A+ already. If it's gunning for AAA open world, then it needs way more quests and story too.
It has been confirmed. Multiple times MS has said all 1st party games will launch day and date into GamePass. Bethesda is a first party studio now.
They ready revealed that. Phil Spencer said they purchased ZeniMax to bolster their first party exclusive content. Some games that were already announced and about to release already had timed exclusive deals with Sony.
The might not. Bethesda has moved towards waiting to show a gam u til its about to release. "here the game, buy it in 3 months." Star field is rumored for fall 2022 so possible we only get a teaser if anything.
Flight Sim is a 10/10 game but niche product. Not for me either, but I get the hype. State of Decay 2 is my favorite zombie game and I can't wait for 3
Their marketshare math seems like 2+2 = 55.
How is setting your home console as... your home console considered a band-aid? I moved to a new place, internet company had issues and I was 10 days no internet. Played AC: Odyssey, Immortals, Wasteland 3....all no problems. Only issue was the online service parts of the AC games weren't there and the timestamps on the saves were consistently wrong. The "Home Xbox" setting is to prevent piracy so I can't see them changing that anytime.
How about because developer after developer will tell you they build a game for the high end and then scale it back for lesser systems? So it doesn't hold anything back. Eventually game engines won't work on older systems and the cost of optimizing for the lesser, plus fewer people on older specs, means it's not wirth brining it. Cross Gen at new system launch doesn't hold anything back.
