Microsoft has been referring to Xbox as a Platform for a while now, so yes, the title is right.
Running hotter would qualify as worse, heat isn't good for computers. Is it a problem and will it affect reliability? Time will tell, but it isaccurate to say having it run hotter is worse.
How does an easy mode lessen the experience of those that choose to play on standard or harder difficulties?
Souls-like games are meant to be hard, but so what if someone wants to 1 hit kill everything and experience the story and world?
Because games designed to force you to feed quarters into machines back in the day weren't "distilled.down to be a money making apparatus"
GamePass changed the way I game too. I play/try many more games than I used to. Much more OK stopping a game before finishing because I don't have "we'll I paid for this" guilt.
My friends and I routinely look in GamePass for what we want to play on game night, then just download it and Fire it up that night.
They're better. 45yrs old and the best games I've played are all newer games. They just keep getting better.
This is awesome for people that can't find or afford a Series X within the next few years, they won't be left out of games like flight sim.
and COD will still be the best selling game of the year....again.

NOT confirmed. There have just been a lot bizz about that so it's a rumor I wouldn't be surprised to see come true. MS has the money to pay him to make a game for them.
Also agree. I don't think they have the bandwidth for multiple games, but he could definitely consult in a remake while working on the next project.

You made my point for me and still missed it. Yes, more people having the game means more DLC and add-ons sold, which is why sales don't matter, active users do. That's what subscription models do lower the barrier to entry and get the game in more gamers hands
Does GTA make more money from sales or from in-game purchases and shark cards? Spoiler, it's not the game sales.
Subscription services absolutely makes sense for AAA. They make sense for almost any business really, it's why investors love them. They provide predictable and projectable growth and revenue. Companies can build budgets around those, mitigating risk and maximizing profit.
Which is why it doesn't make sense to sign-up for it. If you're doing a subscription, you need to jump in with both feet like MS did, otherwise what are people paying for?

I'd just like to not have my 95 speed players caught by 85 speed players all the time. That and my 220lb running back with a full head of steam always getting pancake at the 1yd line by a 190lb db
You'll actually get both with Xbox. Seagate exclusivity ends soon and then other companies will realse Xbox expansions. Even with an exclusive license, Seagate was priced normally
Right, people are cherry picking one line as a negative without reading or, even understanding financial reports. Let's be honest 99% of people in here don't know how to read a P&L. I'll translate. MS gaming business is killing it. GamePass will continue to grow and drive revenue. 3rd party titles are all still coming to Xbox too.
I honestly don't think it's that bad in the vast majority of games. Are there gear and cosmetics you can buy? Sure. So what? You don't have to buy them and if you don't it's not like you're missing out. Who cares if there are options for people to buy things that don't affect gameplay or matter?
