Well, that's good to hear! With the Just Cause and Mad Max games to their credit, and only a bit of a blemish with the issues JC3 has, I'm still confident that they can make things happen with Rage 2.
+1 for creative freedom!!!
I know what you're saying, to a degree, but the implementation is a necessary step to explore as power increases. Here's the issue that I see with your point though; raytracing is physics... for lighting. In order for physics simulation to interact properly with lighting, lighting needs to be able to accurately illuminate every object in realtime with any objects being manipulated in the environment.
One great example is with fire. The fire needs to illuminate ...
How is raytracing, even if it's just for lighting at this point, redundant? It's equivalent to saying that disc brakes are redundant because we already have drum brakes. It's new tech with a host of benefits over the current engines that devs have to deal with.
Not sure what you're talking about... three games already plan to support raytracing. Then there's this quote, "In an announcement published today, Nvidia said 11 of the world's 'leading' game development studios already plan to utilize RTX in their upcoming games. Whether or not those plans come to fruition remains to be seen, but for the time being, the future of PC gaming is certainly looking bright."

Yeah, correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I understand real time raytracing is relegated to just the lighting engine.
I'd heard this too, but now I can't seem to find info on who owns the IP.
I did find out that Compulsion didn't start working on the PS4 version until August of 2017 though. It's mentioned on Wikipedia:
"In August, 2017, Gearbox Publishing division led by Steve Gibson, also interested in what We Happy Few offered, invited Compulsion to their offices to discuss financing and publishing opportunities for the game. Gearbox's funding...
@ Shadow Wolf
Strange. I recall reading about it several months ago, around the time Gearbox secured publishing rights, but now I can't seem to find any info on who even owns the We Happy Few IP. The best I've found is this from Wikipedia:
"Microsoft has been a major supporter for Compulsion Games in backing We Happy Few, leading to the game having its console debut on the Xbox One. Microsoft announced We Happy Few as part of their press con...
You're right about that.
AF does blur up things a bit with OG Xbox titles, at least compared to a native resolution, and the other points you mention about features are all valid too. The problems with AF are not enough to make a serious difference to the graphics though and OG Xbox BC games still look noticeably sharper than on the OG console.
IMy point was supposed to be related simply to how much smoother the framerates are with BC and that along with t...
@ Showtime
I said MS owns the studio. The rights to We Happy Few were sold to Gearbox so the game could still be published as a multiplatform title. It's being published by Gearbox because they own the IP.

You don't understand how MS is designing their games systems to work. There's no such things as generations... Scarlett will just be a more powerful Xbox. So while MS may ditch the OG XB1 when Scarlett arrives, or possibly even use it as a Scarlett streaming device, the 1X will become the budget Xbox for playing local software from the HDD. 1X will play "next gen" games in 1080p and Scarlett will play them in 4K.
On the bright side, at least we know that in time things will change. Before, we all just had to sit and wonder about if it would ever happen!
I've thought about them doing that as well because of the timeline... let's face it, it would be cool... but I believe that the scope of a project like that would have been an enormous undertaking. Capcom has invested heavily in the remake with a complete reimagining of RE2 and will be able to use this development to improve the qualities of RE3 when/if it comes.
Agreed. If RE2 is successful, Capcom will almost certainly remake 3 and possibly Code Veronica. I would hope that they continue and actually make a proper RE4 and beyond as well.
With that said, I also think Capcom should continue to experiment with stories like RE4 and 7's, but simply ditch the numbering system associated with them. RE4 and 7 were arguably very good games in spite of the fact that they have no real place in a RE storyline that should have always bee...
It's as good of a remaster as most of the BC titles on XB1, and it definitely deserves to be available to play again. Shenmue did so many things right with its' design choices, and it's also the father of the QTE that we see in so many games today.
I want to sit down and play some Genesis games...
Hey, at least PS4 still got it even though MS owns the studio! At any rate, I'm sure there will still be a happy few PS owners who won't care about resolution and still enjoy the game...
@ ninsigma
Tom Warren tweeted about a week ago that Washburn isn't an Elite V2 controller. I don't know what it is, only what it isn't, unfortunately.

It's not an Elite V2 controller from what I'm hearing...
Not only in Native 4K/30, but the lighting and atmosphere are insane!
RE2: Thriller Edition? Maybe if it's after midnight he'll make a cameo!
I might actually play this one. It'll be the first one since AC3 for me. I was upset with the Desmond storyline and felt the series was becoming too repetitive and was rushed out too quickly, but this one looks very different (in a good way) from the series as it was in the beginning.
