It's not that I love MS... It's that I like Sony less.

Easy to find more if you look, but here's a sample:

One more indication that MS is shifting it's focus from HW and services as they have been talking about lately.

We'll see this fall, when Crackdown releases, just how well the initial stages of cloud compute works.

I can't wait until you see it either. What song and dance will you sing for us then?

Success isn't gauged that way around here...

Why are you talking about Phil Spencer, when the article is about Satya Nadella, his boss?

Besides, Phil has stated that their long term goal is to have a software library that is competitive with Sony again, and that it will take as long as a decade to become the rival they intend to be. He's talked about investing more into studios and 1st party games. He has mentioned that single player IP is important to the success of Xbox. He even said that their attention wa...

Man, I hope that's true but it appears that there are specific criteria that can be worked around.

"The criteria the commission used to decide whether loot boxes constituted gambling were whether there was a game element involved, whether a bet could lead to profit or loss, and whether it was based on chance rather than skill."

At a bare minimum there will just be more microtransactions to replace the loot boxes, so choose your poison...

Holy crap! The quality of the lighting, particle effects, and water is really well done. Considering all the power needed to render the atmosphere in the screenshot, the overall quality of the geometry and textures are still plenty good too. Can't wait until we see more!

Because nobody had seen or played the Beta before the reviews came out... and nobody listened to Rare talk openly, weeks before launch, about having the core gameplay in place but adding significantly post-release either? Please.

Your song and dance is wrong, and clearly you won't change even though this was all easy to find information and the game is doing well.

Especially since the game is the first to release on Game Pass, yet physical and digital sales still pushed this title above all others Rare has produced. SoT will do well with continued post launch support in spite of all the claims of, "too little, too late" and, "there's nothing to do".

Nice job, Rare, now bring on Perfect Dark!

You got it twisted. Look at what Crackdown 3’s development has done for the cloud. Epic bought the cloud tech because they believe it works, and it works because of the long time spent developing Cloudgine and CD3 together.

"While we might think of game streaming as meaning that the entire game is streamed in real-time from a cloud server, there are more realistic possibilities in the near-term while the latency challenge is overcome. For example, imagine a game where the environment is dynamically updated from the cloud as you explore the map so that it becomes never-ending or have a city that is updated dynamically with local weather and traffic so that you can experience traffic jams in the virtual world...

Here's what was said about Crackdown 3:
"The extra workload apparently averages out to roughly six Xbox One’s worth of number crunching, though that can burst as high as 13. The number 20 has also been batted around, though this may represent a maximum workload scenario with a full set of players blowing bits of the game into smithereens simultaneously."

I wanted to point out that an objective play on words was labeled inappropriate.

Here is it again with (comments about it's accuracy added):
"What's all the RACKET about around the NET today? 1X has the ADVANTAGE again (4K vs. 1080P), the Pro got SERVED (the performance difference is large), and the 1X ACED it (with a console that developers find easy to support)! Are the developers just not on the BALL(with developing for the Pro)? If so' I'd ...
