It's not that I love MS... It's that I like Sony less.

I remember the first time I walked past a Dragon's Lair machine at the arcade and was blown away. That and Mad Dog Mc Cree. There were others, but those were the two that stood out most to me. Kind of weird that the genre is coming back at all though.

People (real people who actually played the game, not all the "gamers" that usually post here) won't care in the long run what the game was when it launched as long as in the end it delivers an experience that keeps players engaged in new activities with the DLC.

You said, "Just saying content updates doesn't matter if they aren't substantial." I already said, "It'll be interesting to see how much these updates add to the experience..." The size of them has already been discussed by Rare which is why it'll be interesting to see what they mean when they said they'll be a medium-sized first DLC and larger 2nd and 3rd content packages to follow.

You also rambled on about some nonsense before p...

They should move on and make a new game because Destiny just sucks.

"So the question is and will always be what the fudge were they doing for 4 years?"

That is a very good question! I can think of two possible answers:

- It seems, judging by the rumors anyways, that Perfect Dark will be unveiled and ready to launch within 12 months. If true, it would mean that Rare split into two teams and worked on both titles at once.
- Alternatively, none of us have any idea yet how lar...

Yeah, but Pachter is never right!

Sea of Thieves is getting 3 content updates in 3 months, and Rare released a game (it would seem a few months before it was ready) that remains successful in spite of the negative press and reviews (and Game Pass). It'll be interesting to see how much these updates add to the experience and how often they'll continue to arrive though. With 3 teams involved in add-on content it could continue to evolve every month for the foresee...

Considering the precedent set by Bungie so far, if it's unprecedented for the series at least there's a chance it might actually be good!

"...if the only improvements next-gen are graphics and resolution and not enabling brand new gameplay experiences I figure that would be extremely disappointing to see."

I agree, and you just described this generation to a tee. Same games as last gen, just prettier.

One thing likely to change quite a bit by the next consoles' release is physics. AI has a lot of room to grow as well. It may also be possible that the next consoles will be able to get to "full raytracing" but, according to Epic in a recent interview, that's going to take about 25Tf in order to realize... so I'm not sure we'll be there by the time they launch.

I think it's safe to assume that the 1X will be...

Surprise! MS owns the IP.

The animal powers in Instincts: Predator made that version one of my favorites in the series, and it would be cool to see them return.

Aw, it looks like I lost a friend today, since you PM'ed and then blocked me just so you could yell about irrelevant nonsense. Typical ignorance, lol!!! Whatever, I guess they can't handle the truth... but at least I have one less hater to deal with now!

Why are we still talking about MS and "Next Generation" consoles? MS isn't doing generational consoles anymore, their doing iterative consoles which allow for a console to remain relevant for longer. When the "2X" comes along, the 1X simply becomes the base HW and will probably just be reduced a 1080p machine while 4K is on the 2X instead. If people recognized this, they'd see that MS will already have the 1X owners as a "Next Gen" install base on laun...

"At the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco this week, studio 4A Games revealed that it is working with Nvidia to bring real-time ray tracing technology into the latest Metro sequel... The company worked with Nvidia’s RTX tech as well as Microsoft DirectX Raytracing plugin for its graphics API, and instead of building a dedicated tech demo, 4A ended up implementing ray tracing into its next major release."

Me either. I'm going to get the Deluxe, personally, because the DLC just looks awesome and Far Cry 3 Classic comes with it for free.

2965d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

Classic: a work of art of recognized and established value.

Classic is in the title so you will know it's unchanged from the original. While you could argue that they put "classic" in the title just to be lazy, or that it should have been a remaster, remember that it is actually part of the Far Cry 5 Deluxe bundle. It's simply being sold separately as well to give more people access to a great game.

So your answer is not to listen to any of the benefits I mentioned and boast that you can pay for an old console to clutter up the living room if you want old games instead? You are an amazing individual.

Keep telling yourself that your PS3 a choice (for playing all your games on one console) until it's so old it burns out and your new machine won't play them anymore. In 4K. With better anti-aliasing. For free.

Seriously, you guys complained forever about Xbox having an external power brick, or using AA batteries, but are okay with an extra console sitting next to your PS4 to play old games? I see...
