It's not that I love MS... It's that I like Sony less.

Don't forget the guide button, party chat, an updateable OS, arcade games, avatars, etc.

Look, PS4 could do it now but could not support it commercially when it takes off. Ironically, the faster the PS4 sells the farther behind it lags in the infrastructure needed to support Cloud gaming as support grows.

@New Monday

This news actually confifms XB1 as the home of FPS.

Of all physical copies sold, 59% went to 30m PS4 owners, while 39% of total sales went to 15M XB1 owners. Therefore, XB1 owners showed much greater interest in Battlefront than PS4 owners did.

I guess: EA Acccess > paid advertising.

This tech can be used for anything with the infrastructure but yes, they are the only ones using it right now. Cloudgine will be available to everyone but they simply chose to pioneer the tech with MS because of the strength of their services. As for 3rd parties, its' use depends largely on variables like being used for MP or MMO's, the tools devs have to integrate it with, or whether SP could scale up when online but not require connectivity.

If it cost the same as BF4, they allocated too much budget to making it look pretty and not enough time on the substance. Then they add the substance with the season pass? That's a cash grab.

It's like getting married to a supermodel after seeing just her picture, only to find out she's got an 8th grade education and you have to pay for her tuition.

You forgot about the most important special need - enough servers to effectively run Cloudgine on for every user, which Sony isn't even remotely close to having enough of. It's kind of important to actually have a remote machine to talk to, otherwise it's just blowing smoke.

Yeah, he's basically saying that there's tons of potential in the concept, but not every idea can be realized with today's infrastructure. CD3 is just the tip of the iceberg.

@dontthate

Yeah, it'd be around 60% compatable if I remember right. Each Xbox game had to be programmed to run on the emulator which was way more work than getting the XB1 to run 360 games too. I'm sure MS wouldn't have called the prospect challenging if it were as simple as I described, but I found the concept rather amusing.

Thanks. I've been on XB1 for a year and have never seen a single challenge. Where do you find them?

3859d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Had 2, now has 3: Treyarch, Sledgehammer, and Raven. Talk about overdoing a franchise...

Suddenly, there's a new definition for the phrase, "crappy games". I hope you at least mute the mike while on XBL though. ;P

If the framerate is more stable on XB1, which it often is, the extra pixels aren't worth it.

3859d ago 0 agree6 disagreeView comment

I know this is oversimplified:

Couldn't they make the Xbox emulator "BC" with the 360 emulator on XB1? It would be a Box within a Box, like those Russian dolls, lol!

Sony doesn't allow it, you have to run it through a hack. It's like bragging that a 360 can play PS1 games.

Silly monkey.

I get it now. EA got paid by Sony(no, this is not Sony's fault), who then advertised the game for them, then EA used their original advertising budget to try to pay famous people to say they like it. If Battlefront was worth more than it's graphics engine maybe EA wouldn't have to "force" people to say good things about it.

Somebody please explain:
What is the difference between a challenge and an achievement?

I like the idea of a more rewarding, socially connected experience. Back before microtransactions we used to get cool rewards for doing the things we now just get points for, so this news piques my interest.

Reminds me of Mercenaries mixed with Saints Row.

The Genesis says High Definition Graphics right on it! Who knew that 240i is HD. Sega, you were always ahead of your time, lol.

Let's see, XB1 had a light spring, while PS4 had to buy 3rd party advertizing to make up for their sparse 1st party holiday. Not much difference between a pot and a kettle in the long run....

1st party pad lights up, features headset controls, and has gameclip/photo buttons too.
