It's not that I love MS... It's that I like Sony less.

Yeah, not for any AAA games anyways. Just think about this for a minute too; if the leaked specs are true the GPU will rival a $500 PC card. How much do people think the PS4 Neo will end up costing consumers when it finally releases?

Something doesn't add up with the numbers though, so until I see these rumors confirmed by Sony, I'll take them with a grain of salt. Here's why:

A GTX980 ($500) has around a 1200mhz clock and 4GB GDDR5, and runs at around 220Gb/sec. That's just the GPU, and most CPUs are going to be at least 3.2 GHZ quad core with 8-16GB of memory on their own. If the PS4 Neo has a bandwidth of 218Gb/sec in total with 8GB of GDDR5, it would still barely compete with a mo...

Ladies and gentlemen, Nintendo proudly introduces their new NX development platform, codenamed "Project Shovelware".

•High end graphics cards are around 10Tflops already, so Neo won't even come close.
•PS4 Neo will not be able to run native 4K gaming without being prohibitively expensive.
•Neo enhancement could simply mean running better AA and at a higher framerate.

I really think people are being too hard on MS at this stage. MS has been targeting the needs of their customers much better lately, and in spite of peoples' fears over the UWP, it appears that MS has been very open and honest about their intentions from the beginning. People have a right to be cautious, but it is good news to see that MS is making good on the promises they've made to the industry and its consumers thus far.

The Kills, I wanted to correct you first by saying that it's The Coalition, not Epic, that are producing Gears 4. Not a big deal, but as far as "calling it by it's proper term", they actually are. You didn't even have to click on the article to understand that people have twisted the meaning of the term Beta to essentially mean demo. Rod said he'd even considered calling it an Alpha just to distinguish it from all of the improperly labelled Betas out there these ...

You beat me to it Darth. Only thing I would mention is that it Is still in beta according to the article, so it's possible that the final build will run at 900p on XB1, while the PS4 version runs at 1080p. I just hope that Battlefront isn't an indicator of a trend EA is starting with resolution.

Wave Race 64 was the first game I ever saw that blew me away with it's water physics. The best game I've seen so far has got to be GTA V though, not Uncharted. When you're in the ocean the swells are bigger than when you're in a bay, the water crests and creates realistic turbulence when the waves break, lakes and rivers have their own unique characteristics as well. Even the last gen versions of it look ridiculously good for the platform they're on.

I hope they do a lot better than that video with telling a story in their upcoming game or it will be DOOMED. Nice Star Wars rip off too.

Wait, I just realized something. PSVR was code named Morpheus, and the PS4.5 is code named Neo... but the current Xbox is still the One, lol!

Like special in the way a short bus jacked up on monster truck tires doing some mind-blowing freestyle is special!

There, I fixed that for you, Dirkdaddy.

There are some people at tech websites that would disagree with you guys. On a screen size of 120" the resolution at 32k would be about 300dpi. If you look at how digital media handles fine texture data right now, there's very noticeable pixelation in certain instances at 1080p. 4K is much better but still has some issues, and 16k will clear things up for most sets viewed at most distances, but 32k will push pixelation so far into the background that it will become a non issue no...

Honestly, I think that CG movies are still improving in terms of processing at this point. I would suggest that since games are just starting to look like the first movies produced, like Toy Story, that the gaming industry will have to mature for at least another 25 years before they catch up to contemporary CG animation. Potentially, with streaming becoming a possible replacement for local processing the need for a new console will begin to slow down. We're not even close to 4k gaming...

Manonwire, MS has Alan Wake and State of Decay for horrror, Banjo Kazooie and Conker for platformers. Any of them could have sequels announced at E3.

Oh my... I just looked at Bing to catch up on the news for the day, and in China, 6 construction vehicles had it out in the streets. Apparently, they were from competing companies, but nonetheless the video clips look like a real life GTA rampage with cars and pedestrians fleeing the scene. It's insane!

If it stays in the US, Chicago would be a good location. I'm a bit partial, as it's my hometown, but there's lots of reasons why it would work; it's a big city with a sprawling urban and suburban landscape, there's lot's of farms, and wilderness with rolling hills nearby too. There's plenty of landmarks, museums, zoos, and a huge theme park nearby. Plus it's good that it's a coastal city too, so there's plenty of beaches and they could keep boats as ...

I would love to see London in the GTA universe again, but I think it needs to include other parts of Europe as well. Europe in general has enough idiosyncracies to latch onto and things like gluttany, greed, corruption, and narcississm are all global problems. Just look at the recent release of all of the off shore account information and the scandals it's caused world wide, or the Russian mafia. The fact that the US is bigger than the entire EU just means that it contains all of the ab...

You know the funny thing about art? It's all subjective. I like Too Human on the 360 better than the God of War games, but Too Human scored in the 60's on metacritic. It's my preference, that's all, but I thought the combat was awesome in that game. I'd also rate Call of Duty at around 30/100 every year, even though I love shooters.

More to your point, I thought Alan Wake was a masterpiece. I loved the psychology of the experience and its surreal nature...

That's the problem here, JMC. People feel entitled to have everything exactly the way the want it or they'll complain in an effort to get something out of it. I understand that it's frustrating having to wail longer that you expected, but this is a chip shortage which customer service didn't cause and cannot magically fix so there's no need to yell at them about it. Besides all that, it is possible to show a little understanding and have a conversation like a rational hu...
