It's not that I love MS... It's that I like Sony less.
CRank: 5Score: 80470

Oh, okay! For the record, I tend to agree with you. I would not buy a PS4 for 1 or 2 games I enjoy that don't play on an XB1.

I've always thought about game consoles being standardized like the film industry does with its' players, but I can't imagine companies getting there anytime soon. OTOH, what MS is doing with Play Anywhere, what PS Now is copying with their service, and the whole "mid-gen consoles" bit may all be early signs of a homogeno...

Okay, let's justify not using the service to play MP because the service plain sucks. Why use the service if it can't be used to play the whole game properly? 720p streaming for HD content and piss poor MP? Where do I sign up???

To quote the genius: Lol wut?

What would be the point of Pro games streaming in badly compressed 720p? It'll make Horizon look like that Sh!tty 480p video comparison, but for real.

Yet you guys also complained when MS said they might debut new games on Game Pass first. Which is it going to be?

Now PS has no exclusives either, and the real reason Sony is pulling PS Now support on TV's and Blu Ray players is revealed. Sony decided to compete with MS on the, "also on PC tangent", and screwed over anybody who's bought a PS Now compatible product to use that feature. That's not the worst of it though... PS NOw still won't have Play Anywhere, they still won't have uncompressed audio/video, and will probably still be missing critical features like voice cha...

Are there clogs, tulips, and pot in Horizon?

@ frosty

Here's a couple, "much new to the table offerings", but there's more if you'd care to look it up:

FL12.1 offers hardware acceleration for advanced physics and lighting, demonstrated by Nvidia at GDC.
SM6 offers multiple benefits over SM5, increasing PQ while using less memory.

DX12 was primarily made to get the development environments between devices to become homogenous, but yes, PC will see th...

Let's use science to back up an opinion. Really? How's that work?

Something subjective, like art, film, and gaming cannot be measured enough to be proven. Not even academy awards winners can be scientifically proven. Popular opinion is as close as it gets. My idea of the best game of all time is Freedom Fighters. I doubt many would agree with me that it's the best game ever though...

What are you talking about? Are you mad this isn't on PS4? Are you mad because you think it's a Scorpio exclusive? If it's the latter, don't worry. It's going to play on all XB1's, and it's going to be awesome.

I would love to just get creative. It's a shame I'd have to play the game to unlock the creative pieces though. I never play survival in Minecraft either because I just like to build.

Between my childhood collection of Legos, now part of my son's collection, and all the sets he's gotten, we've got close to 60 sets of Lego plans to build from. It would be awesome to have a way to virtually explore those sets!

Bathyj, Minecraft is procedurally generated too, but the placement of objects doesn't change each time you reload it. I'm not sure, but maybe you could load an area a few times and see if it randomizes the placement of these things? Snap a few pics to show us if it's different? IMO, it would be kind of weird having all the trees in different spots every time you played, like when an actor's drink magically fills/empties/fills in a scene.

Another, more si...

I'm sorry, I agree with you that the detail is amazing, but I can't get past how excited you are talking about... bottoms, undercarriages, and packages. I assumed this play on words was intentional, but it's subtle enough that it may not have been! Either way, you had me laughing pretty hard with this post!

I agree with your assessment, John Doe.

I said many times before that it looked downgraded from what I could see in the sh!tty 480p comparison and made reference to missing shadows, less foliage, etc. I can now say that there actually are differences in the foliage, but I think that even though there is less foliage in the retail release the quality of it is better. Most other details seem to have been trade offs to balance the look of the retail release too. That said, ...

AMD did have Scorpio paraphernalia at their booth right alongside Ryzen, and Ryzen will be available before Scorpio launches, so a modified Ryzen is not out of the question.

Funny how most devs are saying the exact opposite of this guy too... if you ask me he's just pissing into the wind.

A couple of months back, Phil mentioned Mech Assault in a tweet if I remember right. It was nothing more than a name drop though. Phil also said, more recently, that he wouldn't mind revisiting Crimson Skies someday!

Scorpio is going to have native 4K and high fidelity 1080p, plus MS is going to have a lot more games to show.

I hope Mech Assault is real. Don't tease us and not reveal it, Phil. I need it.
I'd like to see Playground at least reveal the "open world adventure concept" with a trailer.
I predict 343 is working on something besides Halo(Halo 6 is the last Halo of the trilogy. It would be better, IMO, to introduce new ideas into a new franc...

To get to 4K WITH OVERHEAD...

Read much?

Seriously, just native 4K is possible on Scorpio with nearly any XB1 game devs patch or develop to support it. 4K with overhead for other things is where the Sparse Rendering recommendation comes into play, and they could both be options the user could choose... at least on MS' console.

"...but they continue to do and say stupid things over and over." Look into a mirror lately?

Obvioulsy, you are proud of yourself for all the agrees you'll inevitably get when you post nonsense that doesn't pertain to the subject of native 4K on Scorpio. To say that your idea "true 4K" is the only interpretation is equally absurd and applauded too, because it paints MS in a bad light to disguise the real issue.

Let's ta...
