"...it looks more like they want out of the console space...by... killing exclusives."
• Phil says more games this year than last
• Teases of old IP
• Playground opens a second studio
• May have to reveal Scorpio early to make room at E3
• Multiple pre-E3 announcements of new services like Game Pass and chat to text
• Went to Japan to talk to 3rd parties
Nope, not interested in software at all...
Yep. MS has already mentioned high fidelity 1080p options with games played on Scorpio. Checkerboarding will also allow a middle ground between high resolution native 4K and high fidelity 1080p.
Cup of Joe, you're way off base. MS said that Scorpio is a more powerful XB1. It's nothing like comparing a "98 laptop" to a gaming PC... gimme a break. Scorpio uses the same architecture as XB1 does specifically to allow games to seamlessly transition between consoles and maintain compatibility.
If you still maintain your position though, then you'll have to concede that Pro will have exclusives too.
Edit: How do you explain XB1...
You are right about the points you're making, Rain. Also, sorry if I was a bit frustrated. We're much closer to an understanding of each others perspectives.
To clarify, I'm saying that the first steps towards real time physics ang lighting renderers are finally coming, but they require the HW accelerators found in FL12.1 compatible GPUs in order to work well. Devs can emulate the function of the accelerators on other HW, but it isn't nearly as efficient....
Back in the mid 90's I remember when the films Hard Target and Surviving the Game came out about six months apart from one another. Both films were about a man getting hunted for sport. There's tons of examples of it in media, and it can't all be coincidence.
It's true. Hell, MS quit production of 360, and Sony announced the last of the PS3's are being produced. What that leaves is only one system with capabilities close to that antiquated... the Switch. That means that devs won't spend their time making a unique version of their games just for Switch.
I'd have thought after the Wii lost 3rd party support on traditional games and the Wii U was an utter disaster, Ninty would have tried to court Western 3rd part...
ME1 has better animations, acting, and writing than ME:A. I'd go back and play the original too, if given the choice between the two. It holds up well after all these years because Andromeda is worse at just about everything except combat and graphics. Even the character creator sucks now.
It's like comparing a fresh apple to one that's been on the counter for a week.
Like any genre, there are good and bad examples for sure. We need to have variety though. Not just open world games.
I'd like to see more games like Minecraft, Fallout 4, and Ark though, personally, because the power to create content in-game can alter its' playability in many unexpected and unique ways. I enjoy games that let me have creative freedom to play how I want.
Nope. AA rechargeables are cheaper, last longer than any internal battery pack, and I never need a cord... EVER.
Ask yourself, what's more antiquated? Cheap, reliable, user serviceable rechargeable batteries, or having a wired controller for the duration of the charge cycle? If you think cables attached to to your system is better, then just ditch the rechargeable battery altogether and get a wired controller.
I spent $8, on sale, for 4aa rechargea...
Then again, he likes them younger than this... so maybe she's not fresh enough!
Matter of fact, there's pics of Mass Effect Andromeda side by side too and it's the same thing as I described with Tomb Raider.
I just know there's a zombie Jarrod creeping around behind her in that Subway... looking to "Eat Fresh"...
The article says that VR SW development in general is not profitable, that devs are getting discouraged with taking losses already, and it's full of gimmicky experiences that don't make a strong case for VR right now. That includes Vive, and PSVR...
The downwards spiral begins:
1. Too expensive means small market
2. Small market means greater risk of loss from devs
3. Greater risk means less games support
4. Less games ...
^This.
People are A holes for putting stuff like this in the title, especially without a spoiler warning. At least they did it to a game that people won't care about after they actually play it, since Bioware already ruined ME:A for most of us.
I forget which ending, but one of the ME3 ending choices has Shepard taking a breath before the credits roll. Shepard only dies if you make a choice where they don't survive.
Pro is essentially a doubled PS4 GPU. It has elements of Polaris incorporated into it, but is not Polaris. Cerny customized the Pro with "sprinkles" of newer HW like the custom checkerboard accelerators.
Scorpio is also not entirely new HW. Phil said that Scorpio is using the same GPU architecture as XB1, just like PS4 has done with the Pro. The difference is that MS is using a more powerful version of the HW found inside the XB, with new features... not two G...
We'll see, but if that's your criteria, then I believe you will consider 2017 the right time. I'm really excited for E3 announcements from MS, and I hope you'll be able to admit that MS is making necessary changes when they hold their press conference!
There's been tons of indication over the last 12 months to corroborate the notion of "more games".
• Talking about IP in the works last year they never actually announced.

If they would have looked into their fans' eyes earlier, maybe they'd have realized what real emotions looked like!
The character models haven't that changed much in terms of detail because mostly it's things like color swaps and stuff. Unfortunately, they didn't do anything to fix the crappy animations and they still look like lifeless puppets. The atmosphere and background details are a totally different story. They are so vastly different from the demo at times it almost starts to look last gen.
Seriously, with games like FH3 on Xbox and H:ZD on PS4 looking the way they...
Can video games influence somebody who's mentally unstable in some way? Absolutely. So can stress from work, lack of sleep, or any number of things. Maybe we should all rally against jobs because they cause undue stress that can lead to violent outbursts? Maybe we should rally against cheap mattresses because lack of sleep causes irritability? I can go on...
...but anyways, are we really going to point fingers at gaming when the news is a daily dose of real violence ...
