CROSS PLAY v's BACKWARDS COMPATIBILITY are two different and VERY IMPORTANT things:

I can deal with no backwards compatibility, that's fine I have a 360 I can still use.

Not being able to cross-play sucks - now If we buy COD for our potential XBOX ONE we cannot play with our friends that also bought the game for their Xbox 360 - that WON'T work and personally i think that sucks big time.

All I have to say is the next xbox better have a freaking slot loader for the discs and not a tray.

You forget that the Japanese VERY much care about the design and looks of a console so it matters a lot what it looks like.

LOL your right, I should know better than to rely on the first choice presented by spell checker :)

Symantec's but...

"It sounds like PlayStation 4 has been and will be a more profitable piece of hardware for Sony than PlayStation 3."

Something that has not launched and has not even been stuck inside a final casing cannot be classed as "has been a more profitable piece of hardware than the PS3"

I'm sorry but how is knocking of $20 from the basic package and now making it $279 instead of $299 SLASHING the price??!!

That's not SLASHING anything, it's basically knocking off the tax that would have been paid.

that's old news by todays standards.

How are they playing catch up??? Catch up to some 'Specs' and application features that Sony has spoken about????

Crap in that case how about I just rattle off something that's far more powerful than the PS4, will that then mean Sony is playing catch up to my non-existent non-physical non-playable high specked console that I am building and that WILL release with all of the already announced features?? (DIG: Don't forget every smoke and mirrors event that Sony...

Yes they can but they shouldn't have to pay someone to do that.

why should MS say something because morons like this are smashing xbox's and crying like fools over some stupid rumor that no one knows if it is true or not??

Microsoft cannot control rumors that people spread and should not be put in the position of being firefighters just because people like this decide to video themselves acting like 2 year old children.

Ridiculous.

That's not a free fifty then is it because as you said 'for literally doing nothing but playing and buying games'

you had to make a purchase from the store for some of those points, had to use netflix, had to renew xbox live etc so in order to get 'rewarded' your having to spend more money.

That's like getting a fishing pole as a retirement present and then receiving a bill for half of it's cost in the mail.

Reward...

Sorry but avatar items for me lost their appeal a month after they came out.

Spend a ton to get a little back is as not very exciting to me either.

So I have to spend $40.00 on games in order to get $10 back so my 'exciting' incentive here is to spend $40.00 bucks? not really.

It's a shame as I am a huge Microsoft fan and have been gaming on the xbox since the first week the first xbox released, beta tested live etc but they reall...

Funny they say this is going to happen when I just read that MS skipped GDC all together.

How can you say PS+ gives you free games to play when you have to pay a monthly subscription to PS+ - that is not free but it does sound like the games you get offered are a really good deal.

And don't forget, if you don't pay, you no longer play.

If it's like how the Xbox has always been doing it, you have to sign in and then the download starts - essentially your just queuing it up on the net.

Once you go online with a game on the Xbox it pauses the download until your not accessing online content. If you turn the Xbox off, it continues downloading in the background.

So, if it is something I want to play the moment I walk in I call the wife ahead of time and have her sign in to trigger the downl...

How many times can you say 720 in one paragraph - sheesh

Unless you know the full specs on each system, stating things such as 'I can already tell the 720 will be inferior' is just ridiculous. You do not know anything of the 720 except for rumors that you have read and started to believe.

I wish all of the fannies would just relax and quit posting about all the 'what if' type situations and just 'wait and see' instead.

A used game blockage could not and will not happen - places such as gamestop would be out of business - also think about all of the places that RENT video games - they would have to stop also - think you can go to a redbox and rent a game and wait for a 'new' code to be printed out each time the game is rented just so it can be played?! Those machines couldnt do it now. How about Gamefly??!! they will not produce sub-sets of the game with anti-code-required technology built in to cate...

you could be right - to me though it just looked like a normal in-game cgi movie but not real gameplay - nothing about the angles the way the characters moved etc smelled of gameplay, all seemed scripted.

Guess we will find out later down the road.
