That app is pretty cool, not only can you do what you described but you can also use it to access your friends list, see achievements, change your avatar etc WHILE someone else is on the xbox playing a game - it works in the forefront and in the background without interrupting what's happening on the xbox at the time.

I have to admit I am 3 levels away from completing the game and I cannot recollect one time that I have had an issue with the kinect. I am 4-5 feet away from it sitting on the edge of an ottoman and it has worked fantastically.
I like the game a lot - rails or not, its a fun game.

The problem is with racing content is most of the content is just additional cars - unless your a die hard racer and just have to race every single car, it really is a rip off. But, it's only a rip off if you buy it :)
when you get new tracks and new modes, that's worth it but to me, more cars is just something i would not use.

The kinect is hit and miss in my house for some reason, lighting is fine, space is fine, it just sometimes down hit the ball but remains in a back swing and when aiming your shot, i have to need nudging my hand up and down to go further away with the cursor yet moving my hand down left or right works just fine. Very annoying.
Not a great change from the old tiger games, figured it would be worth a rent to see what kinect is like, its ok but not something that will make me kee...
The idea of these apps primarily is for people that have an Xbox in their room with no cable box or sat box - the idea is that they can now use HBO to go through their Xbox and get programming in their rooms.
It's not about having xfinity and just using that - anyone that has Comcast/xfinity has a set top box somewhere obviously.
