We would not have judged *if* Sony had not said some very arrogant things like how 5 million people would buy PS3 even if PS3 launched without any game, (i.e., PS3 still has not sold 5 million units,) and how PS3 would crush Wii at launch, (the reality has turned out to be the complete opposite.)

Xbox Live, on the other hand, is maintained and regulated by Microsoft. Microsoft owns the Live network. It's not and shouldn't be a "free for all" environment.

then HD DVD actually has a triple-layer variety that offers 51GB (i.e., 17GB per layer.) That's 1GB more than Blu-ray's 50GB disc storage limit. Don't believe me? You can go google it or look it up yourself.
The 51GB HD-DVD is already available as blank disc, (not that end consumers like us would actually need or buy the BLANK discs at the moment,) and it's compatible with the regular HD DVD. Movie studios also won't be using the 51GB discs anytime soon because the 30GB disc...

If you're undecided, then don't get either one. DVDs work perfectly fine. You do not "have to" buy Blu-ray or HD DVD. Neither Blu-ray or HD DVD is required *unless* you want to play PS3 exclusive games, which are available on Blu-ray.
Currently, all movie titles that are available for either one are also available on DVDs... for cheaper. The prices of the players are still too expensive, and you know they will have to come down soon because the two formats are loc...
