I was really expecting a few Command & Conquer style rts games which could make use of the PS4 controllers touchpad.
Now that you can use the pad to move directly to any part of the screen a lot of the issues using PS4 for this genre are pretty well gone.
I guess a lot have not actually experienced using these home games computers.
One of the biggest effects was the amount of self taught hobby programmers that came out of it - all lost now.
Yeah for me that was the NO1 biggest mistake!
(followed by Origin and Bullfrog)!
So pleased Chris Roberts has been successful opting for crowdfunding
The biggest loss was when home consoles replaced home computers like Spectrum, Atari 8bit/16bit, Commodore C64/Amigas etc.
A good choice would be one the consumer makes:
Click 1 for 30fps with more special effects
Click 2 for 60fps with less special effects
My choice would depend on the game but ultimately I'd opt with 60fps as I enjoy fps games.
While I've been playing online, using forums etc IRC chat since the 80's and even was the admin for UT's IRC and have not had 1 death threat - or even just any type of threat.
She suggests she knows that the ppl doing this are known criminals.
If correct then it isn't anything to do with the gaming community at all rather the usual psycho's who are just using technology to forward their issues.
Men DONT need to change at all rather we need to lockup the psychos!!
"UT '99" then Quake, Doom, RTCW etc :)
Can't get on with the controller settings and keep clicking the melee button in the middle of the action.
Next weeks announcement will be GT7 will be done by EA/Visceral lol
I'd love to see games like:
Battlezone II
Return to Castle Wolfenstein
Unreal Tournament '99
CRIMSON SKIES
Toca 2 (and 3)
Original C&C & Red Alert
BF1942
(Agree about the Pay per ad web page system)
I suspect it will end up being much like the PS3's 1080p games that were just 2D like Pacman, Breakout variants etc etc
As for the 4K cable - I'll go with Marketing
Primarily humour and not concentrating on realism rather the fun aspect as found in the original BF1942 and BF2
BF3 and BF4 have much less in common with the original Battlefield series than Bad Company 2 or BF1943
Although the cops n robbers theme is new using zip lines to get across buildings etc and hooks to climb up buildings, night vision goggles etc is not new to the BF series.
It was an expansion for BF2 called Special Forces and was fantastic...
Bad Company: Hardline would get my interest:)
Certainly seems to be a business decision not to have a backup system in place.
Most networks work on the backup then switch it in as primary and so forth.
The problem is further enhanced in that most online games have to have you log in to PSN before you can play.
If it played like Bad Company (aka like older BF games) I'd be really interested as I really enjoyed BF2 Special Forces expansion with night vision, hook and zip lines to sneak up and across buildings :)
I just can't adjust to the BF4 (PS4) control. I'm firing at the enemy and next there's a knife replacing my rifle in the heat of battle!
Another skirmish mode that isn't Skirmish!!
skirmish = human v AI
I'd have much preferred a 5 flag CTF and mode variants like 1 type of weapon, weapon progression etc
I think they should sort out dedicated VOIP, messaging servers and IRC chat service.
Why do these devs always have to overdo the effects and ruin what could be a smooth full HD game.
I'll be passing on this game too.
