When we had proper expansions you bought a physical product that could later be traded in. The industry has been very clever in creating these small digital download only content which has no resale value and yet can be as expensive or even more expensive than the game itself (Season Passes).
I like the maps and the hi res graphics, I like the game modes, I like many of the perks.
But what I don't like is the feeling I was ripped off as there's so little content for an AAA game. 11 weapons with no upgrade path, 5 large maps, 4 that are then divided up for smaller gameplay modes.
Digital download weighs in at just 20.6GB on PS4!!
Compared to other digital download fps games:
BF4 pre-updates - 36.4GB
BF Hardl...
On the PS3 Sony pushed 3D games.
It was so successful they dropped support for it on PS4.
The PS3 supports 3D movies yet it's another "3D" feature that was dropped.
PS VR will go the same way simply because the PS4 is not powerful enough to offer a high quality experience.
An interview with Nvidia suggests a GPU capable of 90fps and rendering to 3K for a smooth experience.
I think it will go the way of 3D glasses TV, Most of my friends own a 3D TV but the glasses just collect dust.
Are the maps bigger and more interesting? I found the AW maps quite small and uninteresting which has put me off getting the new one.
Got this as an Xmas pressie and while its a fun game It seriously needs much more content - its about 20% of original BF4.
Really surprised not to find a campaign, you would have thought it a perfect subject using similar humour as in BF Bad Company.
I dont think offline modes are going to have much of an impact, rather will allow EA to switch of online server support early.
Mine are GT7 and Red Dead Redemption II or even a RDR remake for PC.
Its not about which is better rather which has been more affordble initially.
I'd likely get an Xbox One if they released another Crimson Skies game.
I dont think the console figures are from consumer choice rather much of gaming industry has moved from physical full games and expansions to lots of smaller DLC only available via a digital format.
I prefer a physical copy whenever possible as then its my choice if I want to sell it after use or keep it and replay years later.
The PC is different as Steam offer a way to sell on and also prices are much cheaper.
Is it true they used legs and what moron taught them to drive our cars!
and how the hell did they find Paris in WoW?
I quite understand your position and my negatives towards themes are not directed at yourselves rather Sony for not supplying a free editor or allowing others to create one.
I appreciate many see it as an acceptable cost but I'm a dev from the 80's (Atari 8bit onwards)and remember just how many amateur and professional programmers came from simply typing in game / app program magazine listings.
My fav free dynamic themes on PS3 was the garden and fish...
Not really impressed as it's something users could create with ease if they weren't blocked from having the editor.
Lets not forget Polyphony Digital /GT series!!
Since when is 1K pw "loaded"??? It's a decent income but if he's got a mortgage, paying bills, food, personal and property insurances it rapidly depletes - and then there's the odd holiday!!
Worse still most aren't really great deals at all.
I just hope they "include" a full track editor!
As much as I would prefer full 5.1/7.1 DTS effects I agree it's all a bit messy and I too ended up going with the simple clean Sony Wireless Stereo Headset 2.0 (aka Gold in US).
The sound isn't the greatest but it's not bad with a bit of app tweaking though it could be much better with a full equalizer to play with.
I like that you can switch from 5.1 speakers to the headphone just by turning the headset on/off.
The mic works well and they're c...

Sony needs to stop locking our online gaming to it's PSN account. It's ridiculous that just because their account servers our down for whatever reason we can't play any online games.
It was bad enough on PS3 but at least there were still quite a few online games that used their own account servers so we could still play even with PSN down - all it really meant is we couldn't buy anything.
Now we're paying for this where's the bloody ba...
