Sobbing gently in a ditch

In fairness, this will probably will make very little difference to sales.

Every time I go in a games-shop I see a parent buying a PEGI 16 or BBFC 18 rated game for a much younger child (kid points to one he wants, parents look past big red rating badge and take it to counter). OK rant over :)

As I said this is probably still going to sell a ton.

Bit of a shame this got canned really. Would like to see a talented dev team pick this up, as a good star wars game is long overdue.

It would certainly make sense to involve bounty hunters as the stand-alone movie set for 2016 is rumored to star Boba Fett stealing Death Star plans with his pals. Would be a good tie-in.

Thanks for article Sean. Its a good list of games but much like GTA5 there's some games on there I spent so long with, I don't have the heart to start them again from scratch (Skyrim in particular).

I'd like to see Black remade in HD, mostly as I didn't really get to play it a decade ago.

I would also say that if you kept your PS3, that the Uncharted series (especially 2 and 3)still look fantastic and given that they can be bought so cheaply, ...

A great month.

Bioshock Infinite is one of the best shooters I have played in a while, imaginative, non-linear and intuitive with a great story and a great NPC in Elizabeth.

Tomb Raider is also superb. It may well be riffing on Nathan Drakes adventures but if you are going to copy, copy from the best (IMO I felt Tomb Raiders combat was slightly better but Uncharted 2 and 3 had the better set-pieces and platforming, ergo probably edging it in terms of quality)...

Sono is correct. Bio-shock Infinite is the best in the series (IMO) and a game which shows what can be done with the FPS format.

Nice idea med...the first was a joy so am really looking forward to the second.

Perhaps a little yes...probably not helped by the amazing games (The Last of Us, GTA5, etc) that were launched towards end of the last-gen, which set a benchmark so high.

In fact it often felt like the machines were punching way above their weight in terms of processing power, etc and this shows in some of the current-gen launch titles (especially cross-gen ones) which barely look better than the PS3/360.

On a positive note, 2015 is looking like a belter tho...

Sorry but seems like an odd statement as I can't see very many people on this page that are offended to be honest.

I'm pleased the PS4 is selling well, its a great console. Sony's early investment in a gaming first strategy is paying off and that's something MS have learned the hard way.

Videogames are in rude health and that's a good thing for gamers of all platforms.

A nice sentiment.

I wasn't blown away by the beta for Hardline but it was still fun. I remain hopeful, mostly as I really loved Visceral's other work on Dead Space 1 and 2 and Dantes Inferno and feel they are developer with a really good sense of design, atmosphere and playability.

Its on pre-order anyway, something has to fill the gap between now and Witcher 3 in May.

Interesting article.

MS certainly made some poor early decisions (DRM, etc) but seem to have at least gained a bit of ground.

The real winner in a console war is the gamer as competition forces each company to raise their game. This is a good thing.

Indeed Stiffler.

All we need now is a HD remake of Reach to complete the set.

Phib. Lets be clear about this, DC and Forza are both great games, the PS4 and Xbox One are both fine systems. I have no preference one way or another and am not expressing a preference, I am asking a simple question.

Therefore, the question is why are you calling me a fanboy?

Did I at any point in my above post state a preference for one system or game?

No.

So stop putting words in my mouth or insulting a complete stranger t...

I got a XBL message, but oddly while logged into 360.

Am looking forward to ODST immensely, feel the game got an unjustified hard time to be honest. Its flawed for sure, very flawed but some fine qualities.

A review is a guide and as its not written by computer is bound to be subjective to an extent.

Basically its never the score you should focus on (many reviewers don't like using scores), which is why you should read the review fully and dissect the arguments of the writer to see if they actually made sense to you.

A good critic will always justify and explain things clearly, even if they don't hold the same opinion as you. A bad one will tear things d...

Just a niggle but wouldn't Forza 5 be a more accurate comparison? Horizon is an arcade racer, DC is a serious racer (as is Forza 5).

If that car isn't the Forza 5, fair enough though.

I do feel bad for him and I think it will be a while before he trusts anyone online again.

The guy who deleted his items should be ashamed really. Did he do something illegal, i.e enough to get a ban, probably not. Morally wrong?...absolutely.

Also, his parents seem to have neglected to notice that Destiny is rated Pegi 16...Sorry to sound like an old git but parents seemingly don't care about age ratings till it affects them and all of a sudden they ar...

True Leo, but like i say Borderlands covers up its grind with bags of humour and character.

IMO of course. Glad you enjoyed Destiny, I did up to a point.

Heya Pork, thanks for the comment.

Its certainly better than its sequel, but still fell into a 6/10 rating for me.

I felt that, much like its sequel it lacked an identity.

As for annoyedgamer below (thanks also), I actually really enjoyed Crysis 2 (once it got going that is ;) )

Cheers

Hey Crazy, My bad.

Wrote the article and then and only then realised it used the US spelling of the word and missed some corrections.

This transatlantic spelling stuff is a minefield I tell you.

Please accept my humblest apologies.

Agreed....IMO Borderlands 2 embarrasses Destiny in almost every way. Value for money, aesthetic, playability, fun, characters, size of the world, etc.
