The amount of software support will stop pretty soon but it does not mean the consoles are not worth playing.
The previous generation only really maxed out for me in 2013/14, with titles like Tomb Raider, GTA5 and Last of Us, etc.
The 360 and Ps3 are still great systems and have the advantage of huge and relatively cheap libraries to play through. I have a next gen console now but have still kept the 360 and PS3 for that very reason. When you cant afford a ...
@ 4show - I agree with you about reviews should be the truth (not overblown either up or down) and that the noisy mob shouldn't necessarily dictate what another individuals score should be, as objective as it strives to be it will always be subjective.
@_LarZen_ - I am sorry to hear that, I sometimes don't understand the reasoning a score too.
A bad score given for notoriety of the reviewer is never good, however sometimes its worth considering that s...
Thanks for the feedback Dragon, I am glad you got something out of the article.
I felt its time we at least had an opportunity to enlighten people to how we actually do our stuff as there seems to be lots of misconceptions.
Its a great pad. Id say the 360 pad was marginally better but not by much. The One pad is certainly ligther and more attractive due to removing the battery pack bump from rear.
Id have thought this would be received as good news. Titanfall is/was the best online shooter yet released on the One and objectively speaking its fast, flowing and intuitive gameplay should be something all gamers should love. It feels next gen, unlike many other titles on the system.
The SP is crap, yeah but the rest of its rather good.
Id heartily recommend it. But if you have an axe-to-grind for whatever reason or don't enjoy FPS, you can always not b...
A good list.
Some minor omissions but that's always the way.
Nice to see some multi-platform titles doing well, its good for everyone that way.
An under-rated game alright, one Ive enjoyed more than many other current gen titles.
A thoroughly excellent title indeed.
The combat may be pure Arkham but the nemesis system is great and its the first time Ive played a game where it really incentivises not dying.
That sounds silly but it reality affects the way you play the game.
It is the series USP after all.
It doesn't bother me per-se as always felt like it was the gaming equivalent of Carry On film or cheeky Blackpool postcard.....
...But then again I'm not a woman
I had hoped that Mass Effect 4 was going to be about raising, feeding and stroking kittens on a farm in Utah, but this entirely unexpected turn into sci-fi combat has left me a little disappointed.
Woah...some judgmental people on here. Pretty sure the figurehead of one of the religions some you guys are likely to follow said something about this. I didn't realise till now that 'judge not, lest ye be judged' had a footnote(I'm not religious but that's a damn good ethos IMO).
You know we all have personal choice right?
You don't know what lead her to becoming involved in the adult industry, her mental state, etc. Ergo it is not yo...
I'd say the key difference is that's a M-rated (18 in UK) rated game (plus its optional) and a Hunger Games game would almost certainly have to have a lower rating to appeal to a good portion its target audience.
Interesting article.
My thoughts would be the tone and content of the film and books, which at their core revolve around the de-humanising effects of violence are not exactly a family Lego friendly concept IMO.
Marvel Superheros and Indy are an easier sell as at their heart they are about adventure, they have no darker subtext.
Then if the game was to say be a FPS or 3rdPS, to show the Hunger Games themselves would involve the killing of chi...
Well done for doing an article on what is to me, an underrated genre. The kart racer may not be particularly original but is something that needs celebrating.
Id like to offer a solid gold kudos for mentioning the excellent and unloved Blur.A truly great title, lost in the mix, and one I still occasionally play today. All the mechanics of a solid arcade racer with the fun of a kart game.
I really lied the Sonic games too, despite the fact they sail so close ...
Indeed Fro...so many games, so little time!
There is a lot riding on E3 this year.
To be fair, a lot of MS's first party stuff hasn't got me that excited so far (though there's lots of room for surprise hit), its actually the third party stuff like Tomb Raider which I am looking forward to more.
At any rate I am hoping a lot of the multi-platform announcements I hope will happen, will actually happen in 2015. I'm talking Mass Effect 4, a new Rockstar game, Fallout, Dishonoured 2, etc....
Very excited for this game, love the studio and the idea seems solid.
Personally I am almost pleased they are avoiding any sort of tie-in as most movie tie-ins dont really work. The fact this is allowed to be its own thing should mean it can be more imaginative.
I have high hopes.
Rather excited about this, enjoyed SoM, waaay more than I was expecting to and actually has been my fave current gen title. Will be picking this up.
Its often strange how thing attain their ratings. The way the British ratings board works (BBFC) is that if the blood is red, its considered worse than if its an other colour.
A good example Evil Dead 2, where they were under scrutiny for gore so they used orange and dark dark red to make it seem less realistic. It worked.
Its why you see a lot of films and games with baddies with blue, green or black blood, its a get-out clause.
So if the d...
Beautiful...cannot wait.
Hoping for some gameplay footage at E3.
