The higher the sales, the more appealing the consoles are to outside support from both indie 3rd party or larger 3rd parties, exclusive or otherwise. More sales translates more money for Sony to put back into the system, so to hear it doing so well is fantastic, and will lead them to work even harder for more sales ideally.

Certainly games should've been delayed if they weren't ready and such rather opposed to releasing them glitch, I definitely agree with that, but the main reason a lot of developers, at least on Sony's side weren't ready was mainly because they were busy releasing swan songs for the ps3 the same year the ps4 was released. What's interesting of course is not only the sample but also the fact they don't have samples from Gamestop, Best Buy, and Amazon, some of the largest chains for buying games. I really don't understand why anyone's mad or surprised it's getting more preorders or may sell more on the x1. It's advertised and has timed exclusivity on dlc, so I figured it would have a pretty good chance of selling better on the x1. Plus more of its fanbase is there anyway. What's funny though is this dismisses the excuses of install base as to why the ps4 version of madden outsold the x1's.
This is why 3rd party exclusivity is shaky though and why 1st party or 1st party collabs with 3rd party are so important. If you want more appeal to your console, collab more 1st-3rd party projects or create more 1st party titles.
That kind of style of game isn't bad, but it's nice to have both linear games and open world games. Linear games have advantages and disadvantages over Open world ones, and vice-versa. I'm personally glad to hear it's not gonna be open world.

Well this statement is pretty funny. But yea, both companies have made acquisitions. Usually any of the studios Microsoft acquires just makes the same ip as their predecessors already have, which is at least the issue I have with them. I was just about to respond to his comment too. I think the Xbox one just has a better UI and couple of more features. Some of the features of the recent updates have been added to catch up, some the xbox one is ahead and ps4 are still behind.
Social media wise, the ps4 is better integrated in my opinion, and will be even more so after the new update. The UI menu is getting dynamic themes so ps4 will be ahead in that category as well. We'll see if more big features will ...

Bigger install base, equals more support of 3rd party pubs, and that translates ultimately to more system sales, which translates to more revenue for the company. The lead Sony has makes it more appealing for 3rd party exclusives or exclusive content, which will make more titles available to the ps4 than the x1. More games and more diverse games will attract various audiences.
I think people keep dismissing the relevance of the situation too easily. This translates into poor support from japan's 3rd party for the x1, which further makes the system more one dimensional. Like the Quicktime said, back when 360 owned America and UK, they could kinda afford. Now is not the case.

That didn't stop TitanFall from shifting Xbox ones, despite it releasing for the 360 and PC. I think this and Persona 5 will still be system sellers in Japan. It's just that the devs are still playing it safe since the ps4 doesn't have a large enough install base in Japan yet.
