I'll go out and say I've never played a Resident Evil game, but it seems to me the series has to end with this game. It seems that story and graphics aside, there's not much in the way of an actual update and change to the game.
Perhaps now is a good time to let the series fade away and re-invent themselves and a new game.

Multi-sku is why piracy of Windows happens, if they had a unified version, less problems would happen. Way less.

I've had it take longer to install things than to download them. PSN uses some tricky system to get the max out of wireless downloading / DSL.

I don't think anticipation sells as many consoles as actual post releases. Personally, back in august of 2007, there were a lot of games coming to the PS3 that I wanted to play, thus about 5 games compelled me to by a PS3, does that count for all 5 games?
See the problem with calling a game a system seller is that no one game may actually be responsible. Someone could have been mulling getting MGS4, but didn't want to until Killzone 2 was reviewed, in that case, which game sold...
His Atari arguement is a strong one. I actually have an Atari Flashback and it is fun to play and see how basic games were back in their infancy.
I think it would be well worth the time for most gamers to take that step back and see where people like Torrence Davis are coming from. Until then, you don't have much of a strong arguement or opinion.

I get this feeling that the people in question for this are; yuppies, angsty teens / preteens and suburban moms.
There were a lot of non-sequel games released in 2008, however, a lot of them were flat out rejected by the hardcores and the press. (Remember Haze, Lair form 2007, Mirror's Edge was a little disappointing)
Some were well recieved like Left4Dead, but over all if it's new, it's hate time.
That's just a PSP with a sidekick screen. Hell, I don't know why they needed to include the light sensor on it and the letter buttons are now upside down in proper operation.
You don't get good design by throwing together everything that you want in a device, you get good design by putting together things that work well together in a device. Get a PSP-1000 and then come back and say that. I'm not sure how small your pockets are, but no pocket I have is too small for my PSP.

Wasn't the realism factor what made COD4 so big... and then the multiplayer? I swear if the guns were accurate standing still, they would gripe about that instead of the wobble that's being discribed.
