I think you've misunderstood what was written. It talks about how Nintendo was the best selling publisher. You can't say Sony is the best selling publisher because of Red Dead 2 sales on their system.
The headline didn't say the Nintendo Switch dominated and the description even says that most games were bought on the PS4.
Is the headline misleading? No. Incomplete? Sure. But if that's what we're arguing then ...

No, not always. The 360 was the lead platform for like 90% of games last gen so that logic is kinda out the window.

So then how does Gears Tactics being a different genre not void it from criticism? To me it sounds like you're trying to say that because the visuals are different that makes it okay? Well Gears 4 and 5 are something like 20 years after the original trilogy so it's okay then right? It's a different world compared to what it was before so it's okay.

If PSN was free like it was back then this argument would hold up. To some degree its a put up or shut up thing when a service is free. But a paid service? Nah.
Meanwhile, we have Final Fantasy with over a dozen instalments (and even more spinoffs) and you're complaining about a franchise going past its 3rd main instalment.

Slight correction. Animal Crossing has been officially announced so it's not rumoured.
It's a shame too because the mechanics are very nice and its not just another MTG-like card game.
Unfortunately, Artifact doesn't share Dota 2's incredibly fair monetization model.

There is a reason why it was possible:

Not much but its a nice core for a full-blown game if it gets that far one day. I will absolutely commend him though on creating something by himself and putting it out there. As long as the price is appropriate for the package I'll definitely have a go at it.

Maybe because the games are more important? I just want stable online play for games. I don't really care about any of these bells and whistles that companies are charging for. And above all, we shouldn't be charged for it on any system.

Going to be an amazing year. Personally looking forward to Animal crossing, Bayo3, FE: Three Houses and Pokemon the most. 2019 will probably be the best year of the generation if it can outdo 2017 which is looking likely.

I'm not sure you're understanding it. How does Sony sell more games than Nintendo when only 1 of their games made the charts compared to 3 Nintendo games? Nintendo published games accounted for 20% of game sales with EA at number two. This shouldn't have to be explained...
