To be fair we do tend to see a double standard with Pre-release/Day one patches. If it's an unpopular game we see "Member when games were finished when they were launched back in tha day?" and if it's highly anticipated it's "Gois there's nuthin to see here it's not a big deal!".

Nothing especially wrong with either opinion and if anything I'm okay with bug fixes and stability patches but people need to start being more consistent...

"We’ve never seen any info about Switch being the lead development platform for indies. "

Where did I claim that we have?

"Various AAA multiplats still arrive on Switch, and that amount will shrink after 9th gen takes off. Not something to make light of"

Name all of them that released last year (it'll be a small number). You're basically arguing that stuff the Switch wasn't getting is now still not going ...

The vast majority of multiplats that make it to the Switch are Indies. Many of them prioritise the Switch version over the Ps4 version; many of them dont even bother with other consoles like Blossom Tales. This will stay the same for as long as the Switch version proves to perform better in sales than its rival systems for Indies.

"This will be even more of an issue with 9th gen hardware making the gap larger, similar to PS360 & Wii or PS4/XO & Wii U"

Pre orders exist in this world my friend.

9 years for The Last Guardian and everyone's happy and patient, but before an ambitious project can even approach a similar timeframe it's doom and gloom.

Name a game on the same scale as Star Citizen that was created in a shorter timeframe and then we can talk about how unreasonable SC's dev time has been.

"Your attempt to portray me as a hypocrite failed"

Nope. I proved that you'll do whatever you can to avoid actually putting forward an argument for why Steam isn't good today. You're just talking out your ass and not making any points at all.

"they should have released a game by now"

They have... No need to rush the developers just because you want it to fail <3

Or maybe getting it for free kinda makes it easier to enjoy compared to when you pay full price for it.

Not really. The rate will likely stay the same.

Not even sure how it's relevant to the topic tbh.

Notice how I said 'IF'. It was me being pre-emptive in countering a possible argument you could make in opposition to Steam. You also wouldn't have to criticise MS, Sony or Nintendo but in doing so you'd show that you're not consistent in your argument a...

"Steam isn't very good for developers, that is obvious at this point. If it were devs wouldn't be turning their backs on Valve Corporation."

You've done it again. You've made a claim and not backed it up. Devs arent turning their backs on the service because everyone we hear about EGS exclusivity we always hear "don't worry we promise it's just for a year". If you're going to use the cut Steam takes as a negative then you need...

"What matters is what Steam is today, and it isn't very good."

Why? Don't just say it's not very good and then provide nothing to back that statement up. Steam achievements, Forums, Workshop, great sales, Curator system, Review system, Steam tags and of course a redesign is on the way. Those are just the biggest things I can remember of the top of my head being added in recent years. How many of those features does EGS have?

I love this fake narrative people have made where we pretend Steam had no competition before. I thought the popular view of a monopoly is that it impedes progress and development of the market but somehow Steam was always improving and adding new features with "zero competition". They were always multiple steps ahead somehow with no competition.

"You don’t see bringing up two quotes about why SMTV is on Switch as saying why that game should be exclusive to that platform?"

No I see that as quoting the developers to show what the current situation is in regards as to why SMTV Is only coming to the Switch. DJK1NG did not say what you're claiming in any of the comments and you're attempt to twist those quotes into being his opinion is disengenuious. You're doing the same thing media does to create...

"You’re one to talk. You’re bringing up quotes for why you believe SMTV should remain exclusive while hoping for P5 to become multiplat."

I don't see where DJK1NG specifically said SMTV "should remain exclusive" or even suggested something similar. I see him giving the developers explanation but I've not seen him personally say he wants it to remain exclusive.

I don't agree with everything he s...

"I can’t express how correct you are on this statement."

Pretty much just stating the obvious. Right now we're basically seeing people say that Atlus (a company owned by Sega) is less capable than Ninja Theory before MS acquired them. Got a lot of fanboys stealth disagreeing but not backing up why it should remain exclusive too.

"The epic store is garbage, but it didn't impede metro exodus from selling a lot."

We actually don't know how well it's sold. All they said is that it sold 2.5 times higher at launch than their previous title while giving no numbers and I'd kinda hope it did sell much better considering all the marketing it got. They're claiming it did well but not giving the raw numbers to actually evaluate how well it sold.

@Teflon02

Then release it a few months to a year later.... Are we saying that Atlus is incapable of such a simple development decision? Do you think a staggered release is really beyond Atlus's capabilities? If so then I think we have some double standards and poor use of resources.

On top of that you then need to explain why the exact same is happening with SMTV and why it isn't possbile to release it at a later date on PS4 or PC for example.

"Other than numbered Persona games being a playstation franchise since the first"

Which is such a stupid argument I don't even know if I should take it seriously. Is this actually the only reason you can give for why it should be exclusive? Because it sounds like something a fanboy would say.

It's like saying JRPG's started in Japan so they should only be sold within Japan. Spyro and Crash remakes sho...
