Currently your downloads are connected to your account on PSN, not your system. Just pray you don't forget your password and your old email address that you signed up with like i did lol
Yes the games industry will go down the toilet because used game sales represents the majority of its annual income... Oh wait.
This can't be done with music or movies in terms of physical media. If I buy a CD how are they going to lock my purchase to a system/account when its expected for to play it from various sources (laptop, car, stereo system etc).. In the case of DVD, its counter intuitive to what a DVD is and why it is bought. Both industries have little to no con...
@rainslacker
I didn't consider the effect at retail, thats a really good point for any shops who do make most of their money from 2nd hand sales. I do however think that any backlash will be mainly superficial, just like people complaining about online passes. Having said that I'm struggling to see what Sony or MS would gain, its seems more the agender of the 3rd party publishers. So regardless of the size of the backlash, its probably not worth them risking unless th...

"commercial Suicide"
lol, people are so dramatic. I really find it hard to believe that whether or not a console can play used games carries more weight then exclusives, price/hardware differences and their online services. Also this feature isn't going to be advertised on the box and I'm sure the vast majority of the 220 million owners of 7th gen systems aren't on sites like this and will be oblivious to this when they make their next gen purchase. Not ...
I need this game, but it makes zero sense for them to launch this before Mario kart. The Mario Kart is a system seller the Wii U for when the ps4/720 launches.
The concept art wasn't enticing at all. I'm not surprised this got turned down.
I've never heard of destination playstation before. I got really excited because I thought it was a one off which would have definitely meant a ps4, but I guess this is a low key annual event.
If sony do announce a separate one off event it may not be for ps4, it might just be tp get all the ps3/vita news out the way so ps4 can be 100% of their e3 show.
I don't believe is coming out early next year. In september they said it was only 25% complete... there a retailer which listed as a march release but thats just the usual placeholder BS. I think we're looking at a fall 2013 release and maybe even jaunuary 2014 for the west, as they did with XIII-2
Versus XIII is not coming out in 2013. It would clash with Lightning Returns. A early/summer 2014 release is more likely.
@hoje0308
We still don't have release dates for 2 souls and puppeteer.
Sony hadn't announced this years fall titles till Q2 2012. So why would we know the entirety of their 2013 line up when its not even 2013 yet.
Nintendo hasn't announced their fall line up for Wii U, do you also assume them to be bringing out a new console next year :p
Look more closely and you'll see that although price was responsible to an extent in some cases, their were always larger things at play.
-The ps1 won that generation because it had a 16month head start (almost unheard of) and support like FF7, which was brought over to the ps1 because of the Capacity of CD. I suspect many developers opted for ps1 development for the same reason. PS1 also saw the creation of many strong franchises whilst the only remaining franchise creat...
It really isn't that simple. The only things that sony must be sure not to do with the ps4 is sell the system at a $300 loss. Even if the ps3 outsold the ps2, I don't see how it would have made its money back.
As for a system launching at $600, the ps3 still managed to sell more in its 1st year then the 360, despite a poor 1st party line up and its high price tag. If they can make an extremely powerful system which nearly breaks even at 600 (at launch), and support it...
I hope people do realise that they can simply wait for a price drop if the launch price is too much them.
So yes, $600 FTW
Ni No Kuni felt a tad dated when I played it. I can imagine critics feeling the same. Its fun+charming but not gonna blow you away.
Well mine is not much bigger then an Iphone, and being stainless steel its virtually indestructible lol. I think those 2 things contributed to the premium price I paid. Also I got it in early 2012, not sure what that means in regard to the thai floods/price hike.
Am I the only person who would buy a $600 console provided it had the tech+ exclusive games to back it up.
Th ps3 had the tech, but good quality exclusives were missing up until MGS4 in summer 2008.
they are cheap. I got a tiny portable (no mains power needed), stainless steel harddrive with 1TB of memory for £130. obviously you can get half the amount for around half that price. But that was for my work, I'm still not keen on the idea of having a separate attatchment hanging off my ps3. Also due to my own ignorance or whatever, I always feared it would have a negative effect on load times etc.
Now I've warmed to the idea of getting an external HDD but I wou...
"Mario Kart, Zelda, SSB = 20 million wii u"
As seen with the gamecube, except mario is now a stronger brand then it was back in 2001, and the wii is a brand in itself. Nintendo products are also the 1st place parents go when buying gaming products for kids under 12 years old.
Mario 3D/Kart +zelda+ssb+wii titles (wii fit U etc)= 30-40m minimum. I Think realistically the system will reach 60-70m by the end of its lifetime. I doubt it will sell as fast...
"50-75 dollars"...... No
