I was going to say Tomb Raider had dozens of model changes and voice actresses. different from each game.
(TR 2013 and Definitive edition also have different lara faces.)
but It's possible changing a character's face may have an impact to existing gamers of the original game.
only other game i can remember that re-casted a main character was Quantum Break, but this was during production.
i guess it is a big deal though for fans.

makes no sense that pc gamers have to wait extra for a graphics setting that's in most new pc games.
this could be easily patched.

"They do realize that the graphics were rough during the reveal trailer, however, since this is not the final representation of what they plan to achieve with the game, they can be improved by the time it releases"

and i got massive disagrees for it.
at least they know about it.

seems interesting but it also doesn't look that much different from FF15 honestly.
visually speaking. http://i.picpar.com/0EXe.pn...
skin shaders, hair lighting and self shadows are looking a bit dull.

If this is coming to pc that also confirms both rumors of Bloodborne coming to pc as well. as they were part of the same rumor. https://gearnuke.com/bloodb...

Most game engines scale typically on pc anyways. all of the latest pc game engines can all tessellate a billion polys without needing to remodel anything from scratch. all of it handled in-engine. textures also scale from 2k, 4k, 8k, to 16k.
i think what gamers are probably looking more forward to is how gaming budgets have improved over the gens.
with the same high attention to animations and improved mechanics.

this is most likely good for the gamers that find frame rate more important than resolution.
for which i can recall many gamers saying frames is more important. so i guess that's one good thing among other things going for this console.

Microsoft should have left Scorpio as the cheap 4k console.
and leave Series X for next gen games. made more sense this way.
either way, not a fan of disc-less consoles myself anyways.

no doubt these new cards have plenty of power.
now we just have to see new games designed for the new architecture.

"The Xbox Series X and S naming convention is confusing"

very little to be confused with naming convention of the slim model. series X though. i'm guessing it's called Series X because it's their highlight console.

@ Trailer reveal

it's a metric system for compute power. which most functions in games use. (from vertex rendering to shaders) until games are made differently it will be a common metric system for developers to work with.
some 20 years ago some graphics cards shipped with Nurb technology (which was considered more advanced than vertex based rendering) however very few developers used Nurbs in games, so it no longer became a standard measurement for games. even to this day games use standard vert...

".FFVII Rs visuals are at least bad using the lame U4 engine"

I thought the FF7 Remake looked really impressive. also While this demo is as impressive many of it's features could also be found in UE4 going as far back to 2017 and 18. UE4 also has an extensive world editor, coupled with Quixel Megascans. i think this next gen gamers should be able to see UE4 and 5's more advanced features. through the new hardware upgrades.

"But going by how poorly they treated the port of HZD. I'm pretty confident PC support is not a priority."

Currently the PC port of HZD is in a much better state. which is effectively the PS4 pro version with a couple uncapped options at the very least. it was missing a couple things but those have now been fixed. pc version has snow deformation as well. https://youtu.be/qxQXCK3omu...

so many failed approvals to this news. Horizon Zero Dawn coming to pc was met with as much failed approval.
now are we going to debate if that game is really on PC?
