Enhanced games crawling out from every corner. Can't imagine many people were clamouring for this, but it looks like the devs have put in better than minimal effort so... Good luck to them.
^^ What are you talking about? I've not made any mention of Microsoft's claims or "true 4k best pixels" PR bullshit.
I simply asked someone to qualify their opinion, as it was implied that it was based on first hand experience when none of the feedback seemed so.

If you do not have a PC connected to your TV, then an Xbox One X can be useful.
In the scenario I described, it would be impractical for me to use the PC on both the TV and the monitor. Therefore the X has a clear use, even if that use is just cutting out the need to disconnect and carry my PC around to different screens. The X is not redun...
Game stores round my way are getting daily deliveries. The X won't be that hard to find.
Another player in high-end discrete GPUs is great news. AMD have been consistently trailing NVidia for a good few years now, and NVidia are basically pricks with their pricing. Intel have the clout to shake things up a bit.

As a PC gamer, Xbox isn't redundant to me. It will remain relevant to me until I get a second PC that I connect directly to home cinema (which I had until very recently, and will have again when the GPU market comes back down to earth).
How many PC gamers have a PC connected to their "big screen"? Some sure do, but certainly not even to every PC gamer out there.
I'm not saying the big screen is better or worse than a desk based gaming ...
@UltraNova you actually only get to use 780GB of it too. That might limit you to 4 or 5 games down the line!
You could say the same about the 500GB in the base model though. HDD space is such an obvious problem, I can only assume the people making that call don't use the consoles in earnest.

@Zeke68 i didn't even mention the RRP, and i don't really see what the price of my AV equipment has to do with how demanding D3 is.
Still, because it irks me to be called a liar for no apparent reason:
-I had a Samsung UE55F9000 until I gave it to my Sister last year.
-I had 2 r9-290Xs under water.
-I used the Tridef 3D software
-Both the cards and the TV were limited by the HDMI spec, so 4k30 SBS 3D was the best I could do in 201...

Go back and read some of their Pro coverage, that was also very positive. They generally stick to an enthusiastic, positive tone across the board, and piss off one contingent of fans or the other as they go.
@Kevb it is fair to say most people do not care about audiovisual quality enough to invest in UHD Blu-ray. Some people do care though, and it is quite typical for the people that care about AV quality in games to be the very same people that care about the AV quality in films.
Guess which people the Xbox One X is aimed at?
In 2013 I was running it 4k30 stereoscopic 3d, so yeah 4k 60 was well within reach.
Actually thinking about it, I don't think Overwatch has a patch yet either.
I'm sure they're all coming.
