I just played the first 3 hours.....the gameplay is extremely basic. Walk a path while you hear voices, then long cutscenes, a simple battle that is almost QTE....repeat.
Seems like they finally got the memo about Single Player games. Not EVERY title has to be a $200M AAA title like Spiderman 2.
There's plenty of space for games like Stray, Astrobot and Kena give me a few of those every year with 2 or 3 heavy hitters and I'm down.
This game will very likely not sell. The original was relatively well received but bot a huge seller.
This is a sequel, given for free on Game pass and not available on other platforms.
It's not a game that is big enough to drive subscriptions, and very few people will actually pay for the game.
This "business" model is a mess and Microsoft is to blame 🤷♂️ the game would have done well as a $50 multiplatform relea...
Honestly curious why some people defend him at this point.
XBOX studios output has been a disaster, their developers have zero job security and GamePass constantly increases prices (with another one expected near the release of Call of Duty). Xbox sales are down and so are GamePass numbers.
Yeah....probably got a rise for further cutting costs. I am sure he is mortified.
And every article says "as reported by Bloomberg"...so basically nothing to report but the sites want the clicks...
I have most of them 😅
Waiting for a sale on Synapse and Arizona Sunshine 2.....also Metro coming this year looks great.
$60 for Luigi's Mansion 2? Yikes 😅
They literally hear what they want to hear. Hogwarts Legacy was a massive success, but somehow they will double down on Suicide Squad?
Mmmm......ok.
I've played around 5 hours and it's such a fun game. I am a very casual FF fan but I love that it is camp and not serious at all.
Personally, I think it's much better than Remake already.
And two million people would have cancelled their Silent Hill 2 preorders.....I know it's different developers, but it doesn't necessarily show Konami in a good light.
I live in Japan and Pikmin 4 did surprisingly well. Tons of collaborations and marketing. Even now they play ads on the trains.
One of my favorite franchises ♥️
It seems like they are trying to stop it from going viral on platforms like TikTok but it probably won't work 🤷♂️
Xbox fans probably won't like what they hear. The question is, will PS and Nintendo fans care? It's hard to get excited about Halo and Gears coming in 2024...
It makes total sense for Microsoft to go multiplatform....however, it is extremely unlikely that Sony or Nintendo will allow GamePass on their platforms (why would they?)
After the fortune that Microsoft has spent buying studios it will be interesting to see if games like Call of Duty are actually "free" on GamePass day one.
I personally don't think that makes sense financially but it's not like Microsoft needs the money. I guess we will...
As a super casual FF and RPG fan I already preordered this. I actually enjoyed Part 1 and Rebirth seems to be a LOT more over the top and camp.
Hopefully the stages are a bit more open (my main complaint from the first).
At the very least, it looks really good.
They are not wrong. I just sold my Series S (the only Xbox console I've owned). I never played it....probably a few times a year mostly to be disappointed (Starfield, RedFall, Halo Infinite).
I still have GamePass until the end of the year so I guess I'll stream Hellblade and Indiana Jones to my PC. After that, I'll probably pay a month when something is out there.
I thought it was innovative! I had never seen so many loading screens in random places. It was a constant surprise....
Lol....no. By 2025 the PS5 could easily sell at a lower price and the introduction of a PS5 PRO would arguably make the experience much smoother than on Series S. Unless your internet is crap, Microsoft's safest bet is a cloud version (since the game seems to be coming to PC much later)
It probably won't. I am about to sell mine. At this point, it is honestly better to get XCloud and the games run much better than on the Series S.
Coming from the company that took Halo from Apple, tried to buy Nintendo, hid a huge hardware issue, bought and basically destroyed Rare, refuses to release actual sales numbers and just recently dropped almost 80 billion dollars buying half the gaming industry.
A good friend worked for MS until last month. He quit because he was told that even though his performance was stellar, the current economic climate was not good enough for him to get a raise.
