At least in Japan, it is ridiculously expensive. You are paying around $350 for 1tb.
I live in Tokyo and I paid $200 for a 1TB (7,000mb/s) drive plus heatsink.
I imagine they will eventually be forced to be more competitive (and that other companies will release "Ready for PS5" drives).
But as it is now, this drive from Sony is way to expensive to be a decent choice.
I think unlike previous shows, everything they announced felt tangible....
After the wild ride that was Shenmue 3, FFVII Remake and the Last Guardian reemerging (one sucked, one was incomplete and the other one ok but a little dated), I understand why Sony is more cautious now.
We know GOW, Spiderman 2, Wolverine, GT7, etc will be great or at the very least good enough (but likely GOTY contenders).
Microsoft on the other hand announced ...
Plenty of games have epic trailers and suck....this game seems to be doing the complete opposite.
Maybe that's why Sony was showing it every 5 minutes?
And unlike Bayonetta 3 this might actually come out in the foreseeable future...

I was very satisfied with today's Showcase.
Horrible choice to start with an ad and some games (Deadloop and Ghostwrite) have been shown plenty of times.
Still, Wolverine, Spiderman 2, KOTOR and GOW, Forspoken and GT7 gameplay.
Would have liked to see the PS5 firmware moving from Beta to final release though....
And they better not charge $70 for that Uncharted collection 😅

Sony has released better first party games in the last 12 months than Microsoft and Nintendo combined.

- Ghost of Tsushima's expansion
- Returnal
- Astro's Playroom
- Sackboy (not great, but still a good original game).
- Destruction All Stars (mediocre, but also free for PS Plus users).

It looks gross. The live service thing really killed it (and so did the horrible graphics and voice acting).

Hopefully there's some surprises there. A MGS remake would be nice.....same with that rumored Silent Hill.
Maybe something new and unexpected? Sly Cooper, a new Jak and Daxter, DINO CRISIS!....so many IPs that deserve a second chance!
Not every game has to be Uncharted 5.
I miss simpler games like Tomba, Klonoa, Viewtiful Joe.....
Platinum needs better management. Who asked for this? Babylon's Fall looks atrocious and the one game we want (Bayonetta 3) has been gone for 4 years 🤷♂️

PS Plus has been a huge let down lately. At the very least give us the PS5 version of Hitman 2 (a game that was available for a long time on PSNow).
I hate co complain and compare....but Game pass gave us Flight Simulator, Hades and Psychonauts 2 over the last 30 days 🤷♂️
"Good" is a very broad term.
You could argue that innovation is lacking or that we rely on sequels too much. But with games getting more and more expensive, studios don't want to take many risks.
Totally fine with it (and the 60fps patch is welcome too).
The question is....what is Sony releasing from now until February?

Literally everyone feels actually Nintendo is holding Nintendo back and it is su frustrating.
We are not even asking for proper online support. Give us a store to buy N64 and GameCube titles and that fixes the main problem with the system: HUGE gaps between big releases.
Also, their IPs are often ignored or get old ports for $60. At this point we should have an actual Pikmin sequel, a decent Metroid, a good Yoshi Game, a Donkey Kong sequel.....even more t...
