Sony has no need to worry. If cloning the wii doesn't work this year they can clone kinect next year. It is what they are best at.
eh eh first we copy the wii eh then we copy the iphone he he an then we copy teh ipad. We is innovation!!!!!!
The problem is ... you have to have two.
It certainly wouldn't force MS or Sony to allow online access to modified console. It wouldn't stop them from updating firmware to not work with the modified device and selling games that won't work without that firmware.
The price of anything is based on what people are willing to pay. If nobody purchased a used game at GameStop for only $5 less than the price of new, GameStop would lower the price.
If the developers charge $10 for something that would be free with a new game, GameStop will be forced to lower the price by $10 to sell as many games. Well, unless the consumers are totally uninformed.
Yeah, that's it, if you can't afford something just steal it. If you don't like the price don't buy it, but that's not an excuse to steal.
This review will keep me from pre-ordering the game and if the combat changes are more "action" and less "thought" I might pass on it. I guess the next step will be to make it a run&gun with multi-player. Sigh.....
I guess he's a member of the FBoS (Future Burdens on Society) club at school.
The survey was of 500 people on their web portal. The portal provides access to online casual and puzzle games. People who use it would be casual and puzzle gamers. What did they expect?
If 3D provides a real gaming advantage like Sony says it will, what happens to online multi-player shooters? Are there going to be separate servers for those who have 3D TV? There will be wailing. I can almost hear it now.
Maybe there could be a compromise where Gamestop would agree not to trade in used games that are less than ah... maybe 6 months old. Then if you buy a game you could trade it in after the 6 month period was up and also people that wanted to save a few dollars could buy any game used after 6 months from release.
This would give the devs a chance to recover the multi-million dollar production costs and still allow people that didn't want to pay full price for a game the ch...
Buying stock is not the same. If you bought the game and never opened it thinking someday it would be a collectors item that you could then sell at a profit, that would be like buying and selling stock.
As far as you selling your used games, I think that's okay. I also think that it is okay for devs to allow the original purchaser to play online. But the purchaser of a used game doesn't get to use the online servers for free because obviously you don't own the ...
I think there is a difference between seeing a few movies over the course of a year and the multiple multi-hour sessions that can be spent on a video game. How many kids you know that only spend a few hours a month playing with a ds?
They will do what they always do - copy Nintendo, MS and Apple.
If they want gamers to buy it they need to make the coupons for future releases, not things that have been out for months.
All three of Infocom's Zork games are free for download at the infocom site. I played them all a long long time ago. The games are hard and very witty.
Actually you need a pc running a 32 bit operating system. Maybe my netbook...?
@rdgneoz3 I don't quite follow your logic. Swearing in games is okay because you swear IRL. Sex in games is okay because you aren't a virgin. Blowing peoples heads off in games is okay... ?
Because you do it in real life doesn't mean it needs to be in a game. Have you watched the old John Wayne westerns? They were excellent without hardly a damn or hell showing up. Clint Eastwood was a little rougher but those movies were still watchable with an early teen.

I didn't say it was surprising, I said it was "too bad". There is probably very little in the game that I would consider "over the line", but it will keep me, and people like me, from buying and playing an otherwise beautiful game.
The other thing that is sad is the drooling excitement shown by some of the folks because there is sex in the game. I'm not sure that losing the people that are buying for that reason would economically outweigh the number of peop...
I would have purchased two copies of this game to play with my teenage son. After reading this I will buy none. I certainly wouldn't want to play with the juveniles that are excited by this.
I think he missed the most important decision point. If all your friends have one of the consoles you probably should get the same one unless you don't care about multi-player.
