Yep, MS has a better chance at partnering with any of the other TV companies and phone makers since Sony's a competitor in those industries too.
Nice YouTube video, comparing God of War to the PC version of Ryse running at Ultra settings. Totally what we're talking about here.
I also said "pretty much anything", not everything... so yeah, RDR2 you'll get points for, but I'll disagree on Gears 5 - it's definitely up there, and it runs at 60fps standard; GOW has an inconsistent 60fps mode.
If Gears 5 targetted 30fps, maybe it would have some extra effects, but as they are, ...
12TFLOPS compared to 10.28 - the XSX has nearly an entire PS4-worth of extra power at its disposal.
The One X is TFLOPS compared to PS4 Pro's 4.2 - about that same PS4-level difference in raw TFLOPs.
God of War still looks better than pretty much anything I've played on One X. Smarter techniques matter more than raw power and Sony's devs have the talent on working with 'weaker' systems.
It was a well-reviewed cult classic with a lot of lore for easy expansion of its universe into new games. At the end of the generation, its genre has no real direct competition left, so if there's interest - a quick cash-in remaster can test the waters for if they wanna build on this IP.
Samsung and Microsoft mentioned something a while ago about a gaming partnership with the Cloud that they're going to detail later in the year, and they've done a lot of shared marketing together since the early days of the 360 (all Xbox 360 kiosks included Samsung TVs for example, and the MS Stores sell Galaxy phones).
If I'm to guess, Microsoft will bundle Game Pass with xCloud in the next Galaxy Note and run bundles on the existing S20s for xCloud's forma...
The prices of 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSDs are still crazy, $200 or more. And it's only AMD that have motherboards capable of those SSDs still, so who knows when Intel will finally release CPUs and new boards to support that. PC world will be behind for quite a bit, even compared to the XSX's setup.
I just wish we'd stop pretending that an SSD is going to magically improve framerates and resolutions. We forget already that the UE5 demo was running at a resolution and frame...
TLOU Remastered has a mode that Targets both full 4K and just 30fps, on a 4.whatever TFLOP device.
I don't care how old this game's source assets come from, but it still looks incredible and I've not been bothered by the framerate at all
On Waypoint they've said that they'll be at the event. We need gameplay and a lot of it.
That's not reality man. That's gaming bolt taking one interview that another outlet did and them making 100 articles from that one interview.
@Kiwi Not only that, but that (1) this dev doesn't have experience with either, (2) admits it in the article, *and* (3) he doesn't even really praise the PS5.
Scorn dev: "We can’t discuss any info regarding PlayStation"
You: "...doesnt work with PS5 and talks like it does"
If you're gonna defend GamingBolt, at least read GamingBolt.
"reactions from different people in the gaming industry" Yeah, like this one, right? Gaming Bolt articles from people with opinions formed by other opinions. Doesn't even matter if they have the hardware...
Opinions will truly matter - and have the evidence to back it up - in at least a year or two when developers actually know the hardware they've *been* working on, not just opining about what they could maybe one-day possibly do if they even get a dev ki...
From the ever-credible dev with no next-gen dev kits, a kickstarter with fewer than 600 backers that's being released on current-gen consoles, and just a single mixed-rated game from 4 years ago on Steam...
Irrelevant if he has both or not. Fact is one person has a dev kit and commented on the system they had the dev kit for. Because they have experience with an actual next-gen dev kit. This guy doesn't. He's read things and been told things likely in the same YouTube videos we've watched, and doesn't even have a game being worked on for next-gen.
And for Gaming Bolt to be so irresponsible as to report an inexperienced opinion, well... let's not forget the ...
Yeah, I don't see them taking away from themselves on the same day as everyone's going to be dissecting TLOU2 reviews. I could see maybe the 8th to coincide with IGN's Summer of Gaming if they partner up, or the day following to not step on IGN's launch (out of journalistic respect for all IGN is doing to revive the spirit of E3), otherwise maybe the 15th so they dominate all of that news week leading up to the actual TLOU2 release
This developer isn't working on a next-gen game and doesn't even have a dev kit. The article even points out his opinions are based on just words and the internet...
People were dismissing the Scorn developer but no one's questioning this one? This guy doesn't even have a dev kit!
"his opinions are based on his “knowledge from presentations and the internet”"
Read the article, folks!
Yeah, Sony really wants to rely on third parties to show off their platform after that... /s
A Gearbox game that's not Borderlands, be cautious...
@Obscure, I'm not disagreeing at all that Gears 5 is a beauty. There's no doubt that, like you did with Ryse, the PC version on Ultra settings will look better than any console game.
So please stop trying to say an Xbox game looks better by showing off the PC version. Two strikes in the same thread. Tsk tsk
