Yes, and they cared enough and did their due diligence that these ever got put in. We didn't ask for those modes, Ubisoft did it on their own.
If with Shadows there are so many little nitpicks already, pieces like this are no more than "Look over there!" puff articles excusing Ubisoft for things they used to care for.
A Nazi Salute is a Nazi Salute and you may as well be a Nazi for defending people using the Nazi Salute.
There is important contextual difference.
Assassin's Creed, especially Origins/Odyssey/Valhalla, use their attention to historical accuracy and plausibility as marketing beats. History modes are even in the latest games. The way Shadows had been presented showed how much they slipped from the standard they used to adhere to, in a way that comes off as disrespectful to the culture the game is sourced from.

Nintendo took down AM2R and the next year they announced their official Metroid: Samus Returns 3DS remake.
So... There's hope for 2026?
Astro Bot selling only 56k is a sin, especially when not only is Mario Party the best selling title of the year there, there are two others also ahead of it! The worst selling one more than doubled AB's sales.
Thank you, coconuts!
I would say though that Nintendo and Sony have both changed business plans quite a bit.
Nintendo, generation after generation, had declining console sales save for the Wii. They were untouched though in handheld. So they pivoted - effectively ditched consoles in favor of this handheld that can be plugged into a TV. They knew they couldn't compete with PS and Xbox.
Sony pivoted too. They abandoned the handheld ma...
Nintendo consoles survived, despite SNES selling worse than NES, N64 selling worse than SNES, GameCube selling worse than N64 (and even the OG Xbox).
Switch wouldn't be the success it is, if Nintendo didn't flop with the Wii U that sold... 13 million, if even?
The Series consoles are ahead of the OG Xbox. Sales aren't improving but let's stop acting like Xbox is this catastrophic failure that eclipses that of the Wii U.

They're working to Remaster themes now.
Rockstar is the worst. I'll always remember being locked out of GTA V and RDR2 for over a month just because their system locked whatever magic account was used for bridging Steam to their launcher.
I remember Ninja Gaiden Black and how awesome the hype and support was around for that. The changes from the base game and the world rankings we could check out in the menus. Played through the OG game once and Black at least twice.
Never played the original 2D games but I'm excited to go through 2 Black soon.
Can't forget movies and tv shows too.
Fake News there, don't spread it.
That is not what he said or suggested at all in his post, where he also explains why they didn't build Wicked with Microsoft.
So they changed their plans. Remember that Sony was trying to pay to keep Starfield off Xbox, too...
Never played or seen Ninja Gaiden then?
I did say "consumer-friendly gamer-first" not "go go corpo!"
"What else are they in business for?"
Gee, they have the quickest selling title in PlayStation's history with Spider-Man 2, then still laid people off a month or two later, across PS Studios as a whole and at Insomniac!
So I don't know, what would you say, where the *best in history* still immediately results in firings?
"The official system requirements for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 are yet to be revealed, but here is what is generally expected for them to be"
So this article is fake news?
The consumer-friendly gamer-first spin should be so that the PC version is polished and optimized properly for the platform. I am confident that is the true reason, too - Nixxes is only so big and can only handle so many projects at one time.
It should never be for the sake of gatekeeping software just to keep certain hardware relevant. Especially where layoffs are so prone to happen, as we saw at studios like Insomniac despite the records they shattered with Spider-Man 2. ...
It's Doomed, NG is stuck in the Dark Ages
"This is just Sigma 2 with gore and gross UE graphics..."
Based on... 0.1 hours. Nice dismissal.
