Microsoft won't own Bethesda till later this year officially, so it's more interesting how Flight Simulator already has VR Support.

Nothing Microsoft makes really stays a secret though. If Windows Mixed Reality is getting ported to Xbox I'm sure we'll hear of it

He means that PS5 native games can't support PSVR. Hitman 3 for example - you can only play on PSVR through the PS4 version of the game

It was a resoundingly short-sighted decision. And they knew it was going to go badly - bad news is always shoved to a Friday when people are focused on the weekend or talking about everything else from the week (heeey RE Village + surprise demo drop).

Totally agree that it was a move to cannibalize Gold in favor of GPU. At the least, there's a net-positive policy change overall, and it sends a message to Sony not to mess with pricing anytime soon either

The original Snap was standard MSRP, $50-$60 USD back then (first party varied title to title, if we remember). With precedent, yes, this one is "worth it" justifiably as much as the original was.

Shooting toward* each other.
The aiming was all over the place!

No one's ever asked for RE MP. But they keep on trying to dish it out.

They couldn't even pick good players for the trailer either making it look worse. It was sad lol

Twilight Princess HD and Wind Waker HD!

Aren't those by themselves like half of Nintendo's remaining Wii U games not ported yet?

(Of course we need OoT and MM ported too)

Teflon - that's a heavy assumption that the updated engine can just be dropped in and work without other changes to the PS4 game's codebase. Just to effectively toggle 60fps on one platform, it wouldn't be worth it.

There are reasons UE3 games are still being made despite UE4 being out so long, too.

What doubt has there been with DF? Surely someone who is suspicious of them can give even just one specific example.

You'd know the answer to your own questions if you actually watched DF, because they contextualize what they mean and intend very well, especially resolution and all the forms that make it matter differently (native, DRS, DLSS, TAA techniques, they cover the gamut)

@d3n

That was a game built with that in mind. That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying DF may have said that one specific game was engineered for 30hz refreshing - and if that's true, other titles could be like that at the engine level.

Digital Foundry report their findings if severe enough to developers before they upload the videos to YouTube. These comparisons hold developers accountable for discrepancies between versions (Dirt and AC Valhalla are perfect recent examples) and give consumers more information about products they're interested in.

I'm sure CDPR would agree with you, at least :)

What fake advantages did DF suggest exist?

Even in DF's Fallen Order patch analysis they continue pointing out areas of PS5's better performance.

Xbox Series X finally has an advantage on something.

1800p med shadows PS5, 4K high shadows XSX, 1080p low shadows XSS. Basically-flawless 60fps across the board with one minor dip on Xbox in a portion of one level.

Interesting if this difference will be the standard going forward. This seems to closely match the spec difference of the higher end machines. Even if I had an XSX, I'd gladly take the negligible "worse" PS5 version just for the ...

I recall a while ago Digital Foundry talking about Horizon ZD on PS4 being built specifically for 30hz refreshes.

Obviously, the Decima PC ports run at unlocked framerates, but that OG engine (and others built for PS4 exclusivity) may not be capable of it "for free"

"No plans" or "nothing to announce" in gaming marketing means absolutely nothing.
Nintendo denied DS Lite plans until the day before announcing. Microsoft avoided Series S even after controller packaging was being sold in stores.

If Among Us exists on PC Game Pass, of course this will come too. Eventually. Just like Control.

Gears 5 Hivebusters is a (short) quality campaign expansion that got announced and released to Game Pass a month later.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps is among the best platformers of the gen. That studio in 2020 released to Game Pass, then to Switch, and put out a Series X patch for 120fps support.

Flight Sim exists. And is getting heavy post-release updates. Halo MCC had all of its games ported to PC throughout 2020 and had some of those improvements tri...

The Series S is totally gonna stump them. That'll hold back the game, not... Idk, things like supporting a GTX 1650 + 2015 Intel CPU with 8GB of 2333Mhz RAM on a traditional HDD

I wonder if that's why MS discontinued Xbox One X & SAD before Fall - reduce the impact of the confusion.

"These names suck, you guys."
"You came up with them!"

Remember that COD as a franchise generally has two games selling constantly the entire year. GTAV and RDR2 being the best-selling games their release year doesn't make them higher earners than [COD New Year + COD Last Year].
