Go back and play your SNES. The art style in SNES games was very very good. Just because it's 2D, doesn't make it any less visually appealing.
Games like Tales of Phantasia, Donkey Kong Country and Chrono Trigger look great.
Halo does look good. Not AMAZING, but good. You're bound to get disagrees here though, purely because it's a 360 game and this is N4G.
Simple...and true.
I've replayed old games and the graphics have taken a little away from the experience; but it's not a deal breaker.
Good point. Also, people are talking about US sales vs EU sales. What about the East? There's a huge gaming market there and Nintendo and Sony are FAR more successful there than Microsoft. I think it comes down to brand loyalty more than anything.
A lot of Japanese games won't give Xbox a chance purely because all of the competition IS Japanese.
Perhaps that's why there seems to be less European bias. We don't make anything. We just import wha...
Supermarkets are usually the best place to go on big day 1 releases, because they usually price war with each other.
When I bought GT5 on day 1, it was £5 cheaper that most stores and I even remember Asda selling a game for £27 at their midnight release (think it was Modern Warfare 2, but I can't remember).
Don't worry, you'll get all that. Saints Row 3 is out later this year!
As for GTA, I think when it comes, we'll see Vice City again. They tend to go LC, VC, SA.
OT: Good article. I definitely agree with fixing the disappearing traffic when you're trying to avoid taking a bullet in the ass.
It may be more of the same, but it's all good. The environments aren't boring in my opinion and on Hardcore mode, a different experience was had entirely. There may have been bugs, but I never had too much trouble (1 Freeze and 1 floating ranger).
I expect this game and its DLC to keep me entertained on and off, at least until the release of Skyrim.
Remind me to buy you a sense of humour for your next birthday :)
FFVII is more popular and requested than any other game. I don't think I've ever seen people asking for an HD remake of 8 or 9, even though they were great too.
Honestly, I think the chances of FFVII are fair, but it won't be for a LONG time, but I think there is no chance whatsoever that they would remake 8 or 9. :(
I wouldn't exactly say they've really REDONE 1 - 6. Original assets were used. It's essentially a port with some cutscenes. Making FFVII again from the ground up would be an enormous task, given the scale of the original.
I, of course, hope it happens, but I'm not holding my breath.
I think if you rated anything OTHER than a game 8/10, that would be an amazing score. I don't see what people's fascination with 9/10 review scores.
Personally, for a score of 10, I'd want to be IN the game. No game will EVER be perfect, so I think 9 and 10 review scores are unrealistic anyway. People seem to focus so heavily on that little number and don't actually read the reviews, which for Killzone 3 are generally very good anyway.
Eit...
Joystiq isn't exactly reputable. They've been accused of bias so many times in the past, it's not even funny anymore.
Killzone 2 had a phenomenal story and Visari made you actually CARE about the events that unfolded. From what I've seen of the new story, it's very good but doesn't, in my opinion, have the same impact as 2.
Even if that's true though, this game looks amazing.
Edit: People are also placing too much focus on the numbers. If you listen to the review, nearly all of it is positive. Who CARES if it's 0.1 worse that some other game? Play it ...
You thank people and they disagree? Tough crowd.
That's stupid.
Piracy IS stealing, no matter how you try to dress it up to make yourself feel better about downloading things.
If you buy the product, the creator earns money. By pirating it, you are taking money from that person's pocket that they should have after all the hard work they put it to create to something you clearly want enough to warrant stealing it.
Game design used to be a glamorous job. Because so many people s...
Finally, somebody who just likes games and doesn't try to put down what other people like just because they don't.
@Mihael-Keehl
I had the PS3 version of Fallout 3 and New Vegas, which APPARENTLY had worse bugs.
I played both nearly to 100% completion and only ever experienced one freeze and a glitch where somebody was floating, but you could still interact with them.
@Tommykrem
I'm the same. Fallout's scale and acheivement is awe inspiring, though I personally enjoy me some FFXIII, even if it is a different experience to ...
I agree. These are in NO WAY comparable games.
One is a JRPG with a command-based active battle system.
The other is a FPS/WRPG.
I see no way you can compare these fairly.
I think Killzone will be the best FPS of the year, with Socom 4 being the best TPS (I consider Uncharted more of an action/adventure game, so won't include that).
Just my opinion though.
I'm sure that's a great comfort for the hard working individuals who just lost their jobs.
Let's all be morally bankrupt so we can make a quick buck.
