Maybe it's not fanboy hate but a more objective look at the game considering that many PS3 owners have had a chance to play inFAMOUS for over a week and know what a great open world super hero game should be like? I am going to rent Prototype but half expect it to be a little shy of the experience that inFAMOUS provided.
The most vocal vote of them all is the one vote heard through your wallet. If they do not sell well then it must mean the price is not right. I suspect though that with Pachters record of being wrong more often than not, the PSP Go will sell like frigging hot cakes in Japan and sell very well in every other region. I'm even considering one just for the size and Blue Tooth compatibility. Heck, you can use your Dual SHock now without the cord!
I have to ask, why is it a flamebait story? I read it and have to say that they make some very valid points. Having a controller with buttons and the ability to have motion control is great for that extra level of detail in games that might not be achievable in games using the sensing of body motions. Is this article flamebait simply because they give greater props to Sony's idea?
It will just take time. I can't see SEGA passing up on this one. It's just too good a game to pass up on.
It looks a little dated in terms of graphics but the game play looks good. I don't go by scores but the videos and screen shots help guide me when it comes to rental status or purchase. This looks like a great rental to me.
It's not quite the Max I remember... I'm not saying it will be bad, in fact, from the looks of it the game will look awesome. I'm just bummed that they have taken Max down the same path as Sam Fisher.
Didn't they give inFAMOUS a 7? With graphics not on par with inFAMOUS and game play that is not quite as much fun and a level of bland missions and such, Prototype should have respectfully gotten a slightly lower score yet they give it the same... Why is that?
I typically buy the Forza games but feel compelled to rent this time around. This smack talk that the Team 10 guys are doing is just pathetic and so Western minded. They need to show more respect for the competition and stop digging themselves a grave they might not be able to crawl out from.
There is some truth to this as even seen in their commercial they showed at E3. The game looks more like a game where you can be silly and get away with more than what you could in real life. Try and do a doughnut in any GT race and you WILL come in last whereas in Forza, there is always that chance you could still win the race, even after pulling some crazy stunts. It leans more towards fantasy than reality, I can see that.
I don't think that it's about being programmed to like one game over the other. If you are going to claim definitive racer status then you had better be one better than the other guy. At this point there is only one racing sim that pits you against 11 other players on and offline, has over 40 tracks and 800 cars and over three circuits to race in including NASCAR, and WRC. It's not about cool paint jobs, although they are just that, cool stuff. It's about content and size and the idea that th...
A solid rental for me.
Why Valve, why come off as being reluctant to work with new and future proof hardware? Why not make a game that uses something more advanced than the Source Engine? Come on Valve, get your hands dirty and make the PS3 a game that shines.
Well, it's just sad that bribes need to take place to win a poll.
For how long now has the Xbox 360 been 50 bucks cheaper than the Wii? For how long now has the Xbox 360 outsold the Wii in any region? Lastly, do they really believe that a motion camera controller will actually get people in the same league as the Wii fans to buy the Xbox 360? At what point does MS or Sony for that matter realize that the Wii is a casual fad for many of its fans and that having a Wii and talking about it to friends is more "hip" than to say they have an Xbox with N...
Hopefully they have learned that a ton of turd polishing gains you nothing more than a turd...
Nothing wrong with what you wrote, there are just a few folks here that like to post up phantom disagrees.
I agree with you though, it is a solid rental for me. It just looks like an ok game and I am eager to see how it all pans out. I loved the movies and look forward to see how they play this story out.
Just looking at the previews of this game made me realize how bad it was going to be. It just wa nothing special and looked like a bad attempt at polishing a turd.
You know how it goes these days. Because Killzone 2 did not sell 10 million units, it will not win GotY. It seems that is the trend these days IMHO.
As for Modern Warfare 2... I cannot wait for it. It will be the game that sucks yet another hundred upon hundred hours of my life away and it will do it so sweetly.
If you can, there is no excuse as to why you would not want to try this game out. It looks good and seems to be favored thus far. I don't purchase open world games so rental is the next best thing for me.
With Sony using the Cell and having a BD-ROM Drive, this knowledge is nothing new. It was only the fanboys that hated the PS3 for its price that claimed it was not as powerful or more powerful than the 360. I will however state that perhaps it was not until developers began unlocking the PS3 potential that we began to hear more about how powerful the hardware was. It takes time with any Sony console to unlock the power of it's tech.
Note to the fanboys, I am in no way slamming ...
