Sorry, but saying stuff like that is silly. This is an Xbox thread and to bring up Sony only begs for fanboy arguments.
There are so many different ISP's out there that trying to say the PSN is at fault for slow DL's is silly. I have a 20 meg service and have never had any slow issues with DL'ing from the PSN. I have never had any issues with XBLA either so it is not the console, it is your connection.
Reality is, more people buy GT games through the course of the console life. The series has always had legs. GT3 is proof of that. GT5 will sell like hotcakes the day it is released and will continue to sell great through the years to come. Why? Simply put, it will be the best looking racer for years to come. You cannot disregard the GT fanbase. It is much stronger than people might think it is.
I highly doubt it will "revolutionize" any consoles outside of Microsofts very own Xbox 360. And even there, I see this becoming a bigger issue when they release their next console with the Natal packed in with it from the launch date on. It seems like either too many journalists have drank way too much kool-aid on this and feel the need to praise it a bit too much or, MS has sent out some major swag to convince journalists that this is the next coming of the christ.
It sounds like somebody at Sony pissed him off and now he is on a roll slamming Sony for their decisions. Sorry, but I take him about as seriously as I would my little sister trying to quote market research. He has blown it for us int he past with his crazy predictions that never came to pass. If he had a clean record in gaming news then sure, I would respect him but he doesn't. Heck, very few in his field do these days.
You get the custom controller which retails for 49.99 and a tolken to get an extra character and the game Halo:ODST? Sounds like a good deal but doesn't that mean there is only a 10 dollar discount on the game? It's not a bad package but I was expecting the game to be one of those 29.99 deals.
These numbers would make better sense to me if I knew how well they did last gen. I can't view the video here so if they say in that I am sorry. Did they sell more than the other box this gen in the land down under? If so, kudos to you MS for breaking more ground.
I remember when those games were released as well and to be honest, the fanfare was not all too kind to them ether. I think they were called GRAW 1.5 and RS:V 1.5 since both had the same graphics and very little in way of adding to the story and making it interesting.
I agree, the article was well written and it helps to see both sides of the story more clearly. My biggest beef with Valve is that they have been riding on the shirt tales of the same game engine for too long. Th...
Any addition of trophy support would simply be icing on the cake.
I am dying for a good JRPG these days but waiting until March of next year for that... Well heck, I might as well wait a little more for FFXIII.
A gamer who has a ton of gaming icons and figurines on their TV while sitting next to a Halo Helmet wearing GTA4 pajamas... It's just a bad visual. I can't see what the point is. I have yet to see some collectors edition sell later on in years for far more than it was worth as an old game.
Not to mention its stereotypes that had the black community up in arms. I remember that period and boy was it an interesting issue to see unfold.
You say the 360 is cheap but forget that to play online you need to pay for Live. So, you can buy the PS3 with two controllers for 250 and play some awesome games or, pay 200 for the 360 with no HDD, get one controller and then pay 50 bucks to play online. So you get one console minus hard drive with one controller and online play for 250 bucks with the 360 or, you get the PS3 with HDD, two controllers, free online gaming for 250 bucks... Not to mention that the PS3 is a BD player and has bui...
Nobody brought up Ridge Racer or any other franchise for that matter because it was not them that talked smack against Polyphony Digital, it was the Forza 3 team.
Um.... Er.... Wha?
no way man, RotM sucked.
I have to ask the question:
Why is brand loyalty a bad thing? Polyphony Digital has spent years developing great games to earn that loyalty and now that the peoples vote has swayed in the direction of the larger more well known franchise, brand loyalty is a bad thing? Come on, where's the common sense in that? Wasn't it brand loyalty that encouraged the Forza 3 folks to vote for their favorite franchise? It would seem so...
This is for full body motion control. People who are paraplegic will have to find other ways. It sucks to be in his position and I don't want to make light of it but in the end, asking what MS will do for the very small group of folks in wheel chairs is a request that will certainly fall on deaf ears.
Don't fall into the trap of believing developers when they say that they have maxed out a console. You would be setting yourself up for a day when you look silly. Trust the proof in the pudding rather than words from somebody trying to sell you something.
What a dev means when they say they have maxed out a console is this, they mean they have maxed out the console using their current code. Later, they will trim down the code and make it more efficient and then make the claim ...
My main concern is this, I hope that what we saw was the lions share of shooting for that game and that the rest of the game has less shooting and more horror survival to it. I just don't want it to suffer from the same RE5 issue of turning a survival horror game into an action shooter in the dark.
Now that is a quote I can stand behind and appreciate.
