You can't possibly be serious... can you?
I have heard some spin before but this takes the cookie. I love Forza but know that if it were not for GT, Forza would not be where it is today. You can bet that the Forza team got some of their best racing in on a PSone with GT back in the day. Gran Turismo - It's the benchmark for other great racing sims.
With the showing of both Uncharted 2 and GOWIII, you can only imagine some folks taking the dive and getting themselves a PS3.
Makes me think that the spike in sales over at Amazon were due to people seeing the demo of Uncharted 2 and then realising that Uncharted was bundled with the PS3 and could not resist seeing what all the buzz was about.
I wish for once we would all agree that the only winners out of a show like this are the gamers.
This guy claimed at one time if I recall correctly that the game Ninja Gaiden II could not run on the PS3... His predecessors have done just that, ported the game with more content to the PS3 and will soon be released. I could care less about platform specifics but come on, any idiot that claims this stuff is just that, an idiot. So what's the difference between making a game that looks pretty slick with a half naked chick and guns for boots and making silly claims about how a game won't run ...
I just hope that it doesn't cost an arm and a leg to get one. I know that with tech getting cheaper these days, this device should be relatively inexpensive upon release next year but MS has a bad rep for slightly overpriced peripherals and I hope they do not do the same with this one.
That all depends on the demographic talking. For some, motion control is the best thing since sliced bread. In fact, many of those currently enjoying the Wii motion controls were around when bread began shipping sliced. ;-)
Sure we might see the ocasional MGS4 but in the end, most if not all 3rd party games will go multiplatform eventually.
Then with the NES, it became the era of pure gaming bliss. Gotta say though, being around for every new iteration of gaming device, I have seen some pretty cool new stuff and this year is full of goodies, games and gear. I may have had some of the best times int he early 1980's but now is the time I enjoy games most.
Have to say it is worth the rental and would give it a 7 myself. The game works great and looks great but the story seems to get muddled int he side quests. There are so many things you can do that you tend to play for hours with barely scratching the surface of the main quest then wonder what it is you were originally setting out to do. I know this may not be bad for some but for me, I don't have a hundred hours for a game so sticking to the main quest is something I like to do without riski...
And that is exactly what I wanted. Anything more would be icing ont he cake. Can't wait to play this title.
That inFAMOUS still holds out int he top ten. Just recently beat that game and have to say that is truly a great title.
That the beta is a blast despite even these couple of issues. Can't wait for the full release and for ND to take their time in fixing any issues they might feel need to be fixed. Gotta hand it to the guys at ND, they know how to make great games.
I have to say that what you said there was a bit sad. SIXAXIS is actually pretty cool when implemented correctly and has been used well in many games. No need for Sony to make a reasoning for folks to like it, it works well when used right. Any other new controller is not an apology for SIXAXIS but rather an addition to the gaming community and a step in the direction of the casual gamers.
I will only be renting this one upon release. Even with the AI Director it is nothing too special and with little to no story, the game is just a simple shooter. I liked the first one, don't get me wrong but I can only see #2 being a rental.
But we in the gaming industry like to call those games, "gateway games". ;-)
You can always drop the price but you can NEVER bring the higher price back. As long as people realize they are getting a very good piece of hardware and are willing to pay the 400, Sony will continue to sell the unit at its current price.
I bought mine at launch and have never looked back. Even at its original price the PS3 was well worth it IMHO.
Some journalists really should research the games before making complete fools of themselves. GRAN Turismo for pete sakes.
The best part of Dead SPace was the idea that 99.9% of the time you were alone and surrounded by some nasty creatures fighting for your life. In this pic, they show two people doing just that and it makes me think the game will be less personal and less scary. If that is what the game is to be then fine but if so, then I can't see it living up to the Dead Space I love.
These stores start seeing Kiosks put in place of used games racks. Kiosks that will be there for DLC. Just bring in your PSP or memory card and purchase and DL the games right at the store. They have had this in Japan for a long time now. I wonder when it will come to the States?
But I have to ask, is there anybody here that can post up reasons why they would say MS won over Sony? I have seen many PS3 fans post up reasons why they thought Sony won and support their opinion with games, tech, and surprise announcements but would like to hear some specifics as to why some of these Xbox fans argue that MS won.
Honest question here so please don't flame me.
