Yeh a very weird precedent, the game censors themselves (PEGI and ESRB) do the necessary evaluating and recommendations on game content, not sure why Neogaf a gaming dicussion group for gamers to discuss games has also decided to become the PC police too.

There used to be a metacritic rating requirement. But they have been getting around that with games releasing day on date (so little to no reviews available).

Not that I mind. Some of my fav games have low Metacritic scores :)

Just an FYI. Every month PlayStation have a guess thread over on their forum. If you guess the games correct for the next month you win a prize.

At the moment it's a sad but necessary evil. In order for websites to generate views, they need to be a part of things like Metacritic which in turn affects their relationship with the publishers, dev, platforms etc. And if they dont offer scores they cant be part of Metacritic and sites like it. Thus not treated as much of a priority by Publishers.

If you say, get to the point of an IGN, destructoid, joystiq then yes you can get rid of review scores. Because you already ...

That isn't quite correct. As companies such as NIS / Gaijinworks hedge their whole company on releasing physical versions of niche games.

It is two things why Sony don't do it.

They make MORE money on digital releases. They set the price, so you can never buy a digital copy 'used' so you can only ever buy it at the price they set.

Sony are a big slow moving company. Not well suited to releasing smaller titles physically. They ...

We need physical compliations of excellent digital games like this. Otherwise they just disappear in the ether over time.

Looks cool. Has a bit of that Braid reversing time element to it also it seems.

They repeatedly said that new experiences is what will push Morpheus and VR. Porting over existing popular titles sounds great in idea, but not concept.

It is a new technology so should have games built for it that best suit that technology. Not ports of games that will exist in the non VR space.

Freedom Wars!

Encourage everyone to pre-order, specially if in Europe. To show we support the physical release.

The perfect Joel would be Anston Mount. Looks exactly the same, good actor and pulls off the accent. Also wouldn't demand a big budget like an A-lister.

So what I take from it.

- It is a PSP hack, that can run some PSP games thus far and some Mini's/PS1 games
- Only works on current firmware, so eventually Sony will patch it out. Thus the continuous battle will continue until no more firmware patches are released.

He wasn't talking about selling Xbox but spinning it off as its own publicly traded company instead of as part of Microsoft.

It is actually quite nice to see Vita outselling PSP equivalent games. It slowly but surely is taking over the PSP successor role in Japan.
