To put it into perspective why I said poor sales. It needed to sell 3 million, just to break even...
The IP wasn't a success, yeh it has its fans out there but the actual IP isn't worth a lot. You release a Kingdoms OF Amalur 2 and the instant thought is it made Rhode Island bankrupt :p So the IP wasn't a big success and has a huge stigma around it. Why create a sequel? Just make your own new IP with a similar type game and save yourself a huge headache.
It doesn't have a big enough fan appeal (as evidenced by poor sales) as well as having a stigma around it. That it just wouldn't warrant big money.

Still makes no sense at that size. It is using Windows 8 but not the full thing. Would be more of a streamlined version just to run apps. Then the gaming OS like a 360. And an extra one to connect the two for switching. Shouldn't be taking up anything near 40-50gb. The only reason I can think is they allotted space for future updates that cant be used, and some for the DVR.
That or tons of spyware :D
So the OS takes up over 1 hundred gig? A fresh complete install of Windows 8 takes up what 20-30gb?

Does look cool. Just not sure what kind of audience the game has in the West. Which is a shame as my Vita needs exactly these types of games. The more variety the better!

None. Which can be either a great thing (nothing gets spoiled for you, we can all experience it at the same time). Or terrible (the game is so bad they didn't send out review copies).

That was epic. To see the head of PlayStation so emotionally ingrained with the games they produce, only shows the path they are on and how much they care about gaming.

Just thinking... would it be possible to mix in Crash with Jak and Daxter somehow? I know Naughty Dog wish to do more epic/larger scale games, and combining the two somehow could do that.
Obviously could be an easy thing story wise. Wormholes and all that :p

I'll pick it up, loved the series whilst it was on.
A final fantasy on it (Type-0) will shift units. And then more exclusives. We don't need ports of console games, when we now have remote play. What we needs is more new IP. Some will fail yes but it only needs that one game to make the whole system worth getting.
But it will never get anywhere near 3DS or even PSP numbers. The vita targets a niche of a niche. The 3DS is very kid friendly, fulfills that nostalgia for the older generation. And has the odd few good jrpg'...
Such an awful tragedy. Lets hope the gaming community can help just a little!
