All Microsoft should do is support them from the side, and like you said, let developers do their thing. That's the best approach. They shouldn't get too involved if at all on the design side.
With that kind of support from Microsoft these studios should be capable of some really great stuff.
I'm looking forward to it too.
I thought that nonsense was cringe from the very first one.
Irony intensifies.
I hear loading is a pain in the ass in Anthem, but that could easily be solved with the next-gen consoles.
@Echo
I just said the same thing because the XSX 'is' more powerful with the exception of the SSD.
I expect DF analyses to lean toward XSX due to the better GPU, CPU, higher bandwidth memory, and higher bus speed of 320mb.
I 'do' 'expect' third party games to be a little better on XSX with the exception of loading, environment streaming, and maybe draw distances.
But do I expect 4K/60 for all ...
"Expect this to be case all next gen. 4k/60 XSX....1440-4K/60'PS5.&quo t;
Just because the power is there doesn't mean devs are going to use it to that end, least of all in every case, which is basically what you just said.
I 'do' expect the XSX to achieve better resolution in some scenarios in third party titles owning to the better GPU. Don't think gulf is going to be that massive though and the PS5 is closer to the XSX than the...
“For this game I have gone much deeper into the inner psychology of Cloud, the main character,” Nojima said. “In the original I depicted him as a cool and stylish character. However, this time, he can miss the mark and be a little cringe-worthy at times. His cool facade can often slip. Because he wants people to accept him and respect him, he puts on a front. So, when he doesn't know something he just goes ‘Not interested’. I have written him in a way that makes you think that ‘Not intere...
@rain again
"I think Ellie helped Joel find his humanity again in the first game"
Oh definitely. Ellie gave him a reason to stop being "shitty people" (Tess) and a second chance at being a father in some ways. I think they both helped each other find and hold on to their humanity. They were both good for each other, which is why The Last of Us is such an endearing story.
Can't wait to play Part II which comes out...
Agreed.
I really enjoyed both, but Witcher 3's world, characters, and story are on a whole other level.
I enjoyed Skyrim when it released, but I gotta say I enjoyed Oblivion a lot more when 'it' released.
@rain
Yeah, it does seem rather predictable and I don't think Naughty Dog would settle for playing it safe with story. But, it's a pandemic-apocalypse and some things you just know to be the case.
Whether dead Joel is in Ellie's conscience or not, I'm not certain, but it would certainly make sense given these trailers and Joel's there/not there status in every scene he's been in.
@Anubis
That just sounds spiteful and not practical.
Nothing wrong with building a nice rig, but you've been a PlayStation gamer since 1997. They're releasing a powerful new console at the end of the year which will be cheaper.
Hard to believe you'd up and build a rig and for the picayune reason you gave.
Though I understand your argument, PlayStation is a different creature, and people who've been team PlayStation and and/or have only known PlayStation aren't going to stop buying PlayStation just because its games are going to PC.
People know and love the console and the brand, and that ain't gonna stop.
I'm leaning that way as well, and though I love Joel, his death would add gravity and severity to an already merciless journey. The Last of Us is not 'happy' and I accept that.
Something happening to Joel would be profound and meaningful, and make for a great story.
Sometimes the second time around is better.
The 2016 game came out just a few months before the Pro did, so maybe they just didn't have enough time for thorough optimization or they didn't bother.
This game runs well on Pro I'm told.
So happy that people are digging this game.
Looks so good, and I'm liking the overall difficulty ramp-up of the game. The constant, on-the-fly weapon changing with additional aerial and grounded movement makes the combat a lot more tense, interesting, and fun.
Been hearing nothing but good things from players.
You're acting as if Sony hasn't been delivering - they *have* been delivering at a nice pace all gen. Honestly, this comment/statement/ultimatum should be directed at Microsoft.
Being objective means admitting, without reservation, that Microsoft's first party stable was dry and I'd have to add redundant as well, this gen.
That's all there is to it, man, we all witnessed the same generation.
I honestly don't think it will outsell the PS5 anywhere for a number of reasons, which is fine. They don't need to win - just participate a lot more than they did this generation which means more and good games. Microsoft seem to be getting serious though. Next gen looks good for all.
So, I'm looking forward to it.
Agreed.
I see someone couldn't help himself...
Yes, yes, yes.
If they could get it right, they could bring back that 'magic' of the first two. I'll never forget trying the demo at the KayBee Toy store at the local mall - had so much fun. It was an exciting time, and PlayStation was brand new, and I was young.
I played the hell out of the first two and loved every second.
I liked the PS3 UI and the fact that you could do so much with it. Nice multimedia capability.
The cons you mention dig dog me as well. Much slower everything. The PS4 cleared a lot of that up and it looks like the PS5 will be one smooth, zippy machine.
