@darth

It's a nice game with a sweet setting, sweet weapons, and amazing graphics. Though it's fairly standard 3rd person cover shooter fare, it's packed with detail and lore.

Enjoy.

I thought Microsoft did quite well with their first Xbox and the Xbox 360 as well, save for the RROD issues. The two consoles were fantastic and had some great games.

My money is ready among other things.

Agreed!

Thinking about TO: 1886 on PS4 really makes you wonder what they could do with a PS5.

It sure is, and from some of the most valued people in the industry.

I cannot wait to see what ND do with this console.

The "more" I'm referring to is something the consumer can directly relate to - features and aesthetics - not specs.

People may not understand teraflop (I don't know one from a flip flop) but they do understand stuff like suspend-resume for multiple applications, loading times, controller and console aesthetics and so on and so forth.

I think you said that this should have been a closed conference or something along those lines and I disa...

"They just didn't give it in a simple way, which confuses people, so now Sony sucks....or something, I dunno"

Lol.

Noooo, rain. Nooo, rain. Nooo, rain. No.

Not "Sony sucks" just some of us wish Sony would have added a more consumer friendly bit after the presentation to developers.

Why are you arguing disingenuously? Sure some people unfairly piled on Sony because the ...

Well, some are interpreting things (maybe even yourself) and then regurgitating them in a way that they want them to appear.

I can't speak to the veracity of Microsoft's, Tim's or your claims, which is I why I rely on bona fide experts like Digital Foundry, an entity you've expressed doubt over in the past claiming they're pro Microsoft, which I disagree with.

I called out oldboy because of the way he stated wh...

I think the audience was was packed with developers... it was quite real.

I also wish they would have shown some features, but, this one was just for devs and tech people.

What is this nonsense narrative?

The Series X is heavily customized as well. So many disingenuous arguments popped up after hearing about the PS5's audio solution and the speed of the SSD, and I don't know where people are getting these arguments and claims from.

Both systems have heavily customized components while some are just standard parts that every system needs.

I know.

I keep hearing things like ND are burning through staff with this crunch stuff and the perceived atmosphere inside the studio and I'm starting to get a little worried to be honest.

Hopefully everyone's getting the rest the need but giving the game their all like it deserves.

Edit: Wasn't even thinking about the virus - damn virus. I hope this real pandemic doesn't delay this great game about a fictional pandemic....

Man, people are really trying to twist you up here.

2289d ago 1 agree2 disagreeView comment

No, but they help promote the brand overall.

Sony's IPs (TLOU2 and Ghost) reviewing well would be a boon and give them momentum and you could therefore make the case for a PS5 saying "Well check this out, if you get a PS5 you'll get even more games like these!"

I hope that's what people are trying to say because I have to agree.

2289d ago 9 agree2 disagreeView comment

I can't fully agree with this just because I personally don't care about Gears 5 at 120. I do agree about load time vs frame rate though.

I'd rather have better frame rates than faster load times, but, that's me.

@xX-old

Yes, the SSDs are obviously playing huge roles, but to say that most of next gen is tied to SSDs isn't accurate. Everything including the SSD is working in tandem. That is to say, they all rely on each other to make performance satisfactory.

I think Sony's configuration is fine and I think Microsoft's is fine - two different approaches. I think Sony did well with the SSD. They pumped a lot into it. Imagine pumping those first stat poin...

@Oldboy

I think it went over yours as well and you're just saying that it's better because this is what you were told - well duh!

If you can explain to me how PS5's audio will be better without paraphrasing or quoting Cerny verbatim, I'd love to hear about it.

Otherwise, give us a break.

If this is the case with most 3rd party games where PS5 loads games instantly and Series X takes 7 seconds or more, then yeah, I can see this being an issue. One you wait and one you don't.

I don't think it's going to be quite that stark in third party games though. Maybe 6 seconds for Series X and 0-1 for PS5.

Guess we'll see.

Yeah the whole off-the-shelf claim is a disingenuous cheap shot, and I remember some of the posters on IGN use this same argument against the PS4 back before the current consoles were released.

"Oh PS4 is just off the shelf while Xbox One's is highly customized" and this may have been true but obviously Sony spread their much power evenly, had better ram, and didn't have that anchor known as Kinect.

For the most part though, this whole &...

I think both systems will load in areas just fine and obviously much better than our current systems, but the PS5's I think will be a touch faster in that specific area. The IO throughput is twice as fast.

I think that's where PS5's technical victories end though, as the Series X has it beaten in every other area.
