The PS3 controller was objectively bad. Just google "worst video game controllers" and you'll see the Sixaxis controller on many a list.
The controller was an ergonomic nightmare; the handles were small, the thumbstick resistance nearly nonexistent. The DS4 was a direct result of gamer feedback on complaints about the DS3.
Just an awful controller. Ok - hand size/preference - yeah, ok, great. It's still an objectively poor controller, a...
Agreed.
I like the thought having to remember the landscapes and pathways without waypoints or arrows.
Good on SP.
People are in the mood for pandemic based games during a pandemic.
Well, if there's a great game to play, during a pandemic or whenever, TLOU is certainly it.
I think he means everything from icons to backgrounds to maybe even possibly dynamic. Most people know you can use a screenshot as a background.
This one feels bland, which is why I'm just going to keep the memories of multi-disc, PS1 original and leave this one alone.
The original is still better.
Completely agreed on the less hand holding thing. Everything in life tries to hold your hand these days. I remember the days of memorizing so many phone numbers, addresses, and directions - now the smartphone catalogs all of it.
I'm confident they'll pull it off. Sucker Punch are all quality whether you're a fan of their games or not. They've no doubt playtested their game to make sure it's not a mess of confusion.
I don't think that was what you think was.
People bemoaned the lack of the traditional mini map in Modern Warfare, and I think he means people will be annoyed by this. Well, I won't be.
I like the idea of no waypoints and I like actually having to remember an area and how to get to what I need to get to.
Honestly, I'm sick of waypoints.
"Right"
You have no rebuttal - precisely.
Your reply amounted to nothing more than "Why have an intellect on this gaming site?"
People that are clamoring for a third-person perspective don't understand that it can't just be added to the game in the middle-to-late late stages of development.
There's a very good reason developers tell you the perspective the game will be in when they announce their games. Decisions like player perspective need to be made long before any development actually begins.
Games like RDR2 were designed, from the get-go, to support two perspecti...
Sounds great.
I cannot even begin to express just how much I'm looking forward to this game.
Man, it's going to be so, so good.
Get over myself?
Where am I? I'm on a website with a focus on gaming news. So, what? We should just say we hate things without supporting our arguments? What you said wasn't even an argument - just a flat general statement.
To say you hate a brand and give no reason why is silly - it just is. What's "big brained" or ostentatious about saying you should back up your criticism and opinion with reasoning? Nothing at all.
Yeah, they really nailed that 360 theme with the proper light gray and the perfect 360 green light from under the touchpad.
Great to know.
Witcher 3's DLC was easily some of the best DLC this generation.
They're all becoming more ergonomically sound, and that's great.
Nothing like a comfortable controller.
I think I agree.
The DualSense has a lot of area that can be worked with. Way more than Sony's previous controllers and a little more than the current Xbox controllers.
That Spidey controller is great, and I like the TLOU theme as well. Think we're going to see many awesome custom controllers with the DualSense.
That just sounds silly absent reasoning.
If you said you're tired of empty promises, poor or low first party output, the quality of the hardware, or even company ethics, that would be fine.
Just saying you hate a brand is silly, and only promotes the question of why.
@oldboy
"a trillion dollar company somehow needs more money"
Yes, they do. You could say the same about Sony and it would also be true that yes, Sony, a 55 billion dollar company, need more money.
Companies need to keep growing. I can't believe what I've just read.
If you don't like how they're achieving that growth - that's another conversation - but yes, even a trillion dollar company...
Very, very amusing.
'This will do this and that will do that.'
Developers will do what they do and we'll see when it happens. I remember this same nonsense with PS4 and Xbox One and pretty much everyone was wrong. Everyone who fancied themselves gurus looked like fools by mid-gen.
I remember people seeing Ryse and heaping praise on Xbox One's 'capability.' What did the rest of the generation look like? Mhm.
I hope not.
Games like Child of Light and others prove that turn-based can be great.
That said, the real-time combat is fine too, but I don't want to see it replaced turn based games.
The DualSense is definitely a more complex, feature rich controller, and I'm interested in seeing how those features change the experience.
Still, at the end of the day, all I care about is a comfortable controller. The DualSense looks comfortable to me and the Xbox One controller is already very comfortable for me as well.
