@darth
They're both lions though - they're just different lions. Both consoles are very significant improvements. The SSDs and CPUs are great.
Agreed.
Both companies are putting out great hardware and I'm looking forward to getting my hands on both. I love new hardware - specifically consoles. There's something about em.
Even my new car can't compete with these things really.
"I think Sony is going to bring us examples sooner than you think."
I think so too.
Hermen and the studios are anxious to harness that power and show off their games, you best believe. Sony's studios are proud and hard working and they're going to bring us the goods fast.
"troll topic"
How are you even on the internet?
I didn't realize an unfavorable or middling review was a "troll TOPIC."
Very, very interesting.
@Neo
Gaming in 720p in this age is generally unacceptable for anyone in the know and anyone who's upgraded their TV to 4K or even just has a 1080p display.
720p is the absolute bare minimum HD (not even full) and people are beginning to invest in 4K displays - even cheap ones. 1080p would be acceptable, but 720p is simply 'too' low.
Man, some of you and your fixation with reviews and perceived agendas.
Sell crazy somewhere else - we're all stocked up here.
I actually think it looks pretty good. I liked the interior corridor segment. The game also looks like something I'd enjoy, so, I'm interested.
Agreed, with emphasis on "at least."
There's no excuse for any game that wants to forego frame rate for graphics to not at least have the 60 fps with visual downgrade option.
While I'm glad they stuck with their solution, I definitely agree that they should include the Charge and Play Kit they're currently selling for $30.
That would be consumer friendly and they wouldn't feel the loss.
I think Eternal improves upon the 2016 game in every way. From movement, to overall balance, to difficulty, it utterly trumps DOOM 2016.
It took me a minute to remember, with consistency, all the tools I had at my disposal. Once I did though, I was having a ball doing the dodgy death dance.
DOOM 2016 is far too relaxed by comparison, while this one keeps you on your toes and never relents. Such a good time.
Very cool.
@darth
Any man worth his salt has a fridge stocked with exotic beer.
I've been on a Two Hearted Ale kick lately.
Mod marked it as "old."
Even if a similar article has been submitted, the "Velocity Architecture" could stand to receive a little more talk time - especially seeing as though it's a new feature of a new console. It's very specific, and it could promote interesting discussion. I'm sure some people who hadn't heard about it may have found it interesting.
I could understand failing it if it was a direct duplicate though.
@Living
We're having an exchange about consoles and their cooling, ventilation, overheating, etc. I don't believe Cornholio's (lol) intentions were nefarious.
Naturally past precedents like (rrod) emerge because that's the material we have for comparison.
Relax.
They'll only get the message when people stop buying the games. Otherwise the message is 'You've got the green light to keep making these games.'
Lol.
Yeah, you're that guy.
I'd be dishonest if didn't admit that both PS4s I've owned (launch and Pro) sounded like jets from the get-go. Still, they've never faltered which is admirable.
I really hope cooling and noise is a priority for Sony with PS5. There's always that small worry when I hear those fans roaring.
Very interesting look at why the console is designed the way it as and how it's cooled.
Halo is one of the exceptions - doesn't need a BR at all. Halo has a lot of unique modes and its gameplay sets it apart from other shooters.
I just don't see the need for Halo to jump on the BR bandwagon.
